Kennysmom--
Becca in her younger years would have held her poop or pee for 24 hours before she would have ever thought of pooping in our home...........NOW at nearly 15 years old is an entirely different story......NOw when we let her out, we have to wait for at least 3 poops and guaranteed she will do it in the night or when we are gone, I would put her in a cage, but that would stress her out so much it isn't worth it for me anyways. And her poop never stinks..........never. Thank god!! But she does go in the same place...............Thank god for Clorox Kitchen Disinfectant and a few other cleaners, I guess for the last 2 years she has gotten bad, but with her breast tumors growing larger by the day and her poopie problems, I will pay anything to keep her here if it is just one more day. IF after 15 years I caged her....she would die. I have had her since the day she was born, and .........well..I just deal with it. I can say it does get embarrasing when someone comes over and by the door is a doggie turd........well, honestly my friends just don't say anything anymore, I guess they know how it is. They also know how it is to come here and our home not smell. I always get compliments for that. But they all know how close Becca is to our hearts around here and never say a word, I just always say " COULD SOMEONE GET THE CLEANER AND PICK UP BECCA'S CRAP!!" Everyone, including my friends LAUGH. It is such a common occurance daily, but today she must have known I was going to rat her out.......NO POOP! Who knows? But she has been a great faithful dog, blind as a bad but the best hearing of any dog I own!! Also.............bossy as hexx, and Tessa bows to her when she throws her 8 pounds of weight around......she chases Tessa from the food bowl in the morning and Tessa leaves, but the are truly learning to like each other, share beds quite often now, I think Becca is just too blind or to senile to notice anymore...........but I have to give kedos to Tessa for respecting the old bitty!! She still is a doll to humans, but not so nice to the others, but they all tolerate her. She sure was wonderful in her younger days..........
ARDA__ Had to laugh.....soon as you said dog show trick, I knew you meant match sticks........gave me a much needed laugh! I personally have never done it to know if it works, just heard it does!
One more thing.....I have always crate trained and only given enough room for a dog to move only.
We had Becca's mom, DANA and we could never seem to get her trained, well someone told us this trick 17 years ago, and we tried it and my gosh she was honestly trained in less than a week. It does work. Maybe her cage is too big??
Melissa K. GOOD LUCK!!

Mannix has a huge crate but is too good to poop in it. He would find the smell offensive. Belle on the other hand...if she wanted(I do mean wanted not needed) to poop in her crate she would do it and roll around in it on purpose just so I would have to clean it!!

I really think Belle and Akina were seperated at birth!!

Whoo-Hoo! Way to go Akina!!

Great news, Lisa! :clover:
