Patton tests Rommel's patience since he's been the King-of-the-Roost for a few months now, but isn't that just history repeating itself??

What's so funny about Patton is that he chases lasers and very focused flashlights more enthusiastically than a CAT! It's hilarious to see him chase a dot on the floor as if he's a cat chasing a mouse, I have no idea where he got this from. I'll have to get a video of it, I'm sure It's worthy of $$ on America's Funniest Animals!

In any case he's an eating machine and I've been trying to fill his frame but he's a thick Doberman and it's taking some time. My fiancée says Patton's a Clydesdale and Rommel's a Thoroughbred in comparison.

I'll need to keep him tethered outdoors until the snow melts so I can get him trained on my Hidden Fence system on my acre lot as all the natural and unnatural barriers are all white and blend in with the snow. I tried once I got him home but since the flags are white, the ground is white, the driveway is white and the flowerbeds are white he has no frame of reference. I thought this time of year'd be a challenge. Such is life until spring....

He's undoubtedly a quick study on the shock collar system and he stays out of the kitchen with just a warning but the wired fence system is a different animal and requires visual + hands on training that can only be done without ice and snow.

That's it for the updates for 1/1/11...

Patton is so handsome and looks very happy in his new home. Cute how he likes the laser light, my Solo girl did too, kept her entertained for as long as the light moved. Thanks for the update.

Great update and pictures on Patton. He looks like he's lived there forever.
Lot of dogs will go crazy chasing a red laser light. We had a golden that would do the same thing.
It is a laughing sight to watch. Mostly when you all the sudden turn the light off while they think they caught it.
They look like where did it go. LOL

I love the pictures. :ermm: Our first girl, Page, loved the laser pointer. After you put it away she spent another 15mins wandering around, sniffing, trying to find it. Was so cute to watch. Keep those pictures of Patton coming, I'd love to put him in next years calendar.

Ok, I'll keep'em coming.

He too just stares at me, especially when I come home still in my uniform. He knows where I get the lights from so he just sits, stares and wags his little sump of a tail a hundred miles an hour...just hilarous!

When we fostered Isabel, we found out she really loved the laser pointer. She loved to chase it up and down the hallway, barking like a wild girl. When we were done playing with it, we would put it back in the drawer. She would sit in front of the drawer for awhile, waiting to see if it would come back out. :icon12: Two years later, she came back for a visit and within minutes she sat in front of that drawer expectantly, until we took the laser out to play. What a memory! :ermm:

I love the pictures of Patton. How about a picture of Patton and Rommel together?
Happiness is a decision.
