Don & Christine came out today to meet Deuce. They've had several rescue Dobes before, and we all know once you have one, you NEED to have one. Deuce must have known this was the family for him, because he put on all his gentle charms and was giving Don the classic Dobe leg lean. Who wouldn't fall for that? This was a really good match, you could just tell. Don & Christine loaded him up and he never even looked back. That's a good boy Deuce.

 

Thank you Don & Christine for opening your home and hearts to another rescue Dobe. We hope you have years of joy with Deuce. We look forward to updates too!

Update on his first day.

 

Deuce was extremely well behaved during his ride to his new home, and we were thankful for that!  We have lots of window-walls in our home and Deuce has found every one of them.  He has also found that there are squirrels on the other side of the fence in the back.... can't wait to see what he does when the deer and the turkeys show up!  So far, he's a real "velcro" dog -- sticks to us as much as he can, which we don't mind at all!  He spent a comfortable, quiet night in the dog bed that belonged to two of our other Doberboys.  He went for a walk at the park with Don this morning and Don says he walked quite well, considering it's only his first day with us.

 

I got a photo of him this morning, prior to his walk.  He found Duke's couch in the living room and adopted it right away.  I'm sorry the photo is so dark... will try to get a better one soon.

Now that's a BIG Groundhog.  I only hire squirrels and chipmunks to entertain the troops here.  At least he sees it.  Chaos sleeps through the creators  feeding here.
