Hi All

Just a little update. Now we adopted Dakota in the Summer of 2003. She has been my constant companion ever since. Now my husband just came back after being gone to another Base for 6 weeks. Was home all day Friday, Saturday, Sunday so today was the only day that Dakota and Sam had to be seperated from the family because of my childcare kids. My husband came home after their gym this morning Dakota started trying to open the door. She stopped after he went to work. He came home for lunch and she started it back up again. He went out to his office room (garage) where they stay and she followed him everywhere. He came back in she started again. Now that he went back to work after lunch she's laying on their couch sleeping. He just cant get over the fact that she doesn' t want to let him out of her site. Its really kind of funny, when we first adopted her it took her a really long time to warm up to him.

It's official. He is now an accepted part of the pack! :)

Poor Dakota is probably afraid he will leave for weeks again.

*door opens*

*Bark*  *Bark*  *Bark*

Peanut, you barked at your Dad??

It's me, Peanut, don't you recognize me?

*bark?*

What in the world are you doing coming in the back door?  I don't know if I have ever seen you come in the back door.  I am usually with you.  How did you get to the store without me?  How did you get out of the house unnoticed?  What is going on here?????  Are we off our schedule?????    AAAAAAAAAaaaeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!??????

*oof*

I protest.

  Whadja bring me?

Look I found a 19 squeaker toy for 75% off!

*squeak* *squeak* *squeak*

Peanut's Ponderings:  *squeak*  is music to my ears, nineteen "squeaks" will be music to theirs.

Yep, Dakota is probably thinking if I keep him in my site he couldn't possibly leave this time.
Congrats on having your family together. :)

Ahhhhhh, that's really sweet.
The embedded collars in his neck when we got him and he goes back and extends the gentle paw to the human race. One heck of a dog.
