Ace - Dog in need of letters/calls/emails in Detroit

Have any of you seen this dog, Ace? He is all over Facebook today. (Hey Arda, one of the FB articles was written by Laurel.) He is a half starved pitty mix (I'd guess) in Detroit. I don't know all the details, but apparently Detroit AC won't let any dog that is "pitty" or like a pitty go to rescue or be adopted, it's an automatic death sentence. People are fighting to try to get them to let Ace go to rescue. This could set a precedence to start allowing rescues to help these dogs in Detroit. Detroit is overrun with strays which I guess are mostly pit/pit mixes. If you could please take a moment and contact any or all of the people below to let Ace go to rescue. I put up my letter I used, feel free to borrow from it.

To whom it may concern;
I am writing this email on behalf of Ace and all the other homeless dogs in Detroit. Please allow him to go to rescue. It would be wonderful if this could be the beginning of homeless dogs in Detroit getting a chance at the help they so desperately need. I would also think that any dogs that go to rescue actually save the city money. No cost to euthanize and rescues usually pay a modest pull fee to cover the dogs boarding and guarantee spay/neuter. Thank you for considering this request.
Kind Regards,
Sarah A. Runyan

and SPEAK OUT. Just because of the breed does not make them ALL the
same, they have a bad rap, so do so many other breeds the list goes on
and on even the Dobe. People have TUNNEL VISION and the Pit today
doesn't stand a chance, people also have the same vision on the Dobe.
I can't tell you how many people would say "OMG you have a Dobermann"?
Because of irresponsible owners and owners who like to make their
dogs aggressive have really done a job on so many of the breeds, how
sad it this My heart goes out to Ace and so many others that have gone
down this very same path, very very very sad indeed.
God Bless you Ace.......Good Lord just because of your breed...YOU ARE IN
A MUCH BETTER PLACE.
Sarah, Thank you for posting this, I wrote a letter too, Ace was a living creature and
Ace too was one of GODS CREATURES. to be remembered.

Some great groups to help are C.H.A.I.N.E.D Inc. and Detroit Bully Crew . Gina from Chained is looking for volunteers . She goes in and makes the dogs life better by putting up a secure fence and a doghouse with straw , vetting and educates the owners (love her) . Bill from Detroit Bully Crew is awesome too . If anyone wants to help the dogs of Detroit then help get these dogs fixed .
Starting in 2012 I will be knocking on doors and working to get these dogs fixed , anyone want to help is welcome !
Arda taught me that if you can do one thing to make a dogs life better then you have done good , so lets build a team and help the dogs of Detroit .

I'd like to help. just let me know, when and where..
I was at a community meeting last Tuesday and the specker was the Guardian Angel Animal Rescue of Mich. They sounded pretty good. when they find homeless people with pets they offer medical vet care, including free spay/neuter,food, leashes, collars, they will ID the animals anything to keep the animal safe.
When they find homeless pets in abandoned buildings they feed the animals until a shelter can be found. They do not take any animal to DAC. or to kill shelters. It sounded good, have you heard of them?
