Hey Stef,

What are some of the names of those sites you were referring to regarding "matching names?"

http://www.puppydogw...names/names.htm

I've got more - but they're at home.... I'll post them later...

I thought of some too ... some were REALLY silly like Second Chance's Justice for All and then call him "Laws", etc. :) If you go through the "Official Names" and then think of something that goes with the name (they're often movie titles, etc.) then you can get a neat one. There's HUNDREDS of those - and they're in alphabetical order.... So keep clicking the links at the bottom.

I just REALLY liked Tux. It SO fits him too! :D

SCD's Shooting Star "Stella" - We will work on titles. :)

SCD's Black Tie Affair "Tux" - PCD, CGN, CGC (2004-2015)

I have viewed this site before. It sure does have a lot of names!

All Canadians...

If you are in Canada, you first need to apply for a ILP# through the AKC, then you can apply for a PEN in Canada. The link for the forms for the ILP is below, and the link for the PEN forms is also below.

**Note - This isn't actually the case - Canadian owners of US born dogs still need to follow the PEN process with photos and neuter certificate. Information provided to me from the CKC was incorrect.**

Holy cow! What a pain! :)

http://www.akc.org/pdfs/ilpform.pdf

http://www.ckc.ca/as...f/150-11-51.pdf

Anyway, the process is basically the same. Color photos, information, reason that they're not registered.

Cheers!
Stef

Daisy- That is SO cool about Lucy AKA now Lyric. I'm so happy she's got a GREAT home! We were trying... & asking around but were coming up with no prospects. The good Dobe owners we know aren't ready for new additions YET. But we have 1 friend who is awesome & swears her next Dobe will be from Rescue & she's promised us she'll contact SCD first. Her Male is 12 now & in pretty good health too!

Actually Pat was the one who posted the Dax info. He used my info since I'm registered & have a log in name. I'm so proud of them! Dax already has 4 double Q's toward her MACH & almost enough points for it- & they've been showing very limited since he had surgery. He's going to try for her NATCH- NADAC agility Championship next.

Best wishes to all in your pursuits :) We're always cheering ya on. We've been trying to find a NADAC agility trial in the SCD area for another reunion (& pictures this time) but... nothin' yet!

Daisy

I hadn't kept up with this topic to much been really busy. I have a question for you, since Dakota and I are getting her CGC certificate do we need to apply for the ILP before we send off for the certificate providing she passes. Our instructor has a dog who hasn't passed it. It fails the separation test everytime. Just wondering so If I need to I can get the ILP done before we finish the class and send off for her certificate.

No, I dont believe they have to be reg/ILP but if they are & you
have a nice registered name for them, AKC can put it on the
Certificate if they pass. :D
Does the instructors dog cry/make noise during the seperation??
They cant do much of that to pass...
Good Luck :)

I guess when the instructor leaves her dog to go out of sight the dog just goes nuts. She's going to start bring her to class so she can be worked with on that. She has another dog that already has his CGC and I think some other title.

Daisy - it was SO nice to put a face to the name!! Thanks so much for the forms!! I'll have to take a couple pictures and have the film developed. (I usually use a digital - but I'm guessing they need real pictures. Most places around here take FOREVER getting digital prints back to you.)

Lovely dogs there!! Wow! I was most surprised at the variation in size. Most of the dogs in Detroit seemed to be about the same basic size/shape (maybe it was the same and I just didn't notice) - but at this show there were very fine boned dogs then big HUGE dogs. I'm not quite 100% on the breed standard ... so I've got no room to talk - but it was interesting!

I went back this morning and watched the hounds with mom and dad. (Mom has a beagle, and we always had hounds growing up... Beagles, bassets, etc.) My dad fell in love with the Black & Tan Coonhound ... I was astounded at the sheer amount of drool! :D

Here's a question ... can I show Tux in the states? If I have an ILP I should be okay right?

Thanks so much!
Stef

Hi Stef,
It was good to meet you, we were at show by 8am today :D
Heather had Saluki to show.....
If you get Tux ILP registered, you can show him in obedience, agility,
tracking, flyball, get a WAE temperment title, CGC ect. Just not be
able to show him in conformation. But he can do alot anyway...
Good luck :)

Daisy - If you have a PEN# - can you enter the WAE as "listed"?
