When Joaquin and Sarah came to pick out their new dobie after the sudden loss of their beloved Page, they just couldn't decide. With a kennel full of magnificant dobes just begging for them to "pick me" it was a hard decision.

After walking as many dogs as possible, spending a lot of time with each - they were having a hard time deciding still. The solution was simple! As past dobie owners they were confident that they had the experience, knowledge and love to just adopt two.

Lefty and Allie have now found their forever home! The will be living in Saginaw with their new mom and dad. Thank you both for opening your hearts and home to two wonderful dobes!

Congrats, so glad Lefty found his forever home, he was a sweetie pie...didn't get to meet Allie but she looks so cute.....enjoy your new furkids......

Double trouble!!!! Congrats on your additions....I'm sure they'll keep you either entertained or exhausted with plenty of stories to share with us :P Thank you for opening your heart and home to these two angels.

Dogs don't know about beginnings, and they don't speculate on matters that occurred before their time.
Dogs also don't know-or at least don't accept-the concept of death.

Hello everyone, we are home and settled down for now. We were both great on the ride home, we stopped at a rest area and stretched everyone's legs and got some water because we were all HOT!! We were pretty tired from that hot ride and we took a nice snooze in the air conditioning. Now we are running around with dad. Mom is attaching some pictures she will put more up soon. Sorry mom has to go I am after her slippers. :icon12: Allie (I'm not changing that her nick name can be Alley-Oop) and Lefty ( who we are going to call Buddy). The first picture is Buddy(Lefty) and the last is Alley.

I picked Lefty up from Sanilac, where he had been left in a pen on Easter Sunday - he was like a poor little wild animal - I told Arda I thought he was deaf, because he wouldn't look at you if talked to or clapped at him - we decided that maybe no one had ever spoken to him or directed any attention his way, so he didn't realize someone could be talking to him. I always have a soft spot for any of them that stay with me for a few days, so I hope everything works out for you and Buddy and Allie.

Hi. Well our first night went pretty good, no accidents! Well, when we first came in the house Buddy did lift his leg to mark, but that was the only time he got away with it. I got out the vinegar and scrubbed it up and I will just have to watch him like a hawk til he catches on that this is his place. I have caught him a couple times about to lift but so far he has not snuck one in on me since that first one. He doesn't know his name yet, but he does seem to realize we are saying something to him, he just doesn't know what yet. LOL. He is full of sweetness and it is obvious he wants so badly to please his people he just never learned any manners. Well we will take care of that in time. Alley is very smart, and it seems like she has had some potty training so she will help show her brother what he is suppose to do. Everytime I take her out and say " go to the bathroom" she at least squats. So that should help Buddy catch on. We went for a short walk around the block this morning, so now they are both napping. I will keep updating and I'll put more pictures up soon. Thank you everyone at SCD for these beautiful puppies. They are keeping me plenty busy which is nice. It amazes me that someone gave up Alley who has some training, is gorgeous, sweet, and loving. She has definitely been a house dog before. Well, their loss is our gain and her's too. Poor Joaquin he had to work today and is missing all the fun. :P

Congratulations on your new adoptions. We were happy to be able to meet you yesterday at Arda's. One way to help Buddy learn his name is to carry small crunchy treats in your pocket, every now and then say his name and when he responds to it give him a treat. That helped us to teach Dude his name. After a few times they begin to associate the name with a "good thing". After he starts responding to his name, alternate praising with treating. Good luck!!

Alley and Buddy are still doing really good. They did GREAT on their walk. We passed bicycles and lots of people and none of it seemed to bother them in the least. They did turn and look and stop when a few loud trucks drove by, but I just kept going, and they got the hint right away. They really do walk beautifully together though. They did have a little tiff this morning, but we will work on that. Here are some more pictures of them. (Remember you asked for pictures tell me when it's enough :P LOL)
