Cady came to us at 8 weeks old and we watched her blossom into one beautiful, smart, energentic, and perfect Laberman. Cady had the best of both breeds present in her, and Michael,Rosa and their two children saw that in her. It was love at first site for the family and Cady. Cady was by far one of the hardest ones for us to let go after fostering so long. We along with Wyatt will miss her very much. We look forward to pictures and updates.
Cady will have a playmate in Cassie a black lab mix and Jazz the cat.

Thank You for opening your heart and home to this lovely young lady.

It was too dark tonight at the vets to get a Happy Ending picture, so we will just have to wait for updates.

Congratulation to Cady on your new forever family. I know she will be one hard one to let go off. But her new life will be wonderful.

If I hadn't lusted myself when I saw this dog, I'd be the one slapping Arda.

CONGRATULATIONS!! What a dollie. :(

Hello Everyone

Our family is so thrilled to have Cady! She really is a wonderful pup. She and Cassie have been getting along great these last few days. They play nicely and Cady is so SMART and well behaved. We are so thankful. This IS her forever home :( .

I will try to post a picture of them together later this week...

Rosa; I have had three of these Labormanns to date and I simply can't put into words how great they are. Cady was going to be my Tilly the Hund #3. But she really deserves more than sharing me with 30 others. Congratulations! You just got the best of both breeds. 100% Labormann. Love them to death. We want to see her grow. My first Tilly weighed 132 pounds and was as gentle as a kitten. I still miss her as much as any Dobermann I ever had. Thumbs up to the designer dog "the Labormann".

I love this dog. Jane and Arda, you're not the only ones who lusted :( Kevin & Kathye, I know how hard it must have been to let her go. Congratulations Michael and Rosa. You have one special pup. Can't wait to see pictures and updates and she grows. Hooray for Cady.

Okay...so with every passing day we just fall more in love with Cady. She is so much fun and smart, smart, smart. She played outside with Cassie today in the beautiful sunshine (could spring finally be here?). Cady chased Cassie all over the yard, and every once in a while she would hide in a leaf pile (she blended right in) and then she would POUNCE as Cassie ran past her. It was so much fun to watch them. Since we lost our 11 year old lab in January, Cassie really didn't have anyone to play with like that. I didn't get a picture of them outside today, but I did get one when Cady came back inside. She was resting in the sunshine after a hard day of play!

I'm still working on a picture of both of them together.

Hi Kathye & Kevin

Just wanted to give you an update on Cady. She's as big as Cassie now (who is 2 1/2 yrs old!). She is 100% at home now and we get compliments everywhere we go...people tell us that she's so well behaved for being so young and that she is very beautiful. Of course you already knew all that. :)

I've had to keep a closer eye on her lately because she has started to hunt in our back yard...last week she killed a possum, mole and bird in one day! She has an amazing sense of smell and instantly runs to the shed, where I guess these critters like to hang. I just don't want her to get sick...so the entire family is making sure we know where in the yard she is at all times! She's fast, though...

Again, thank you for making our lives that much more happier!

Here's our cutie...

Well, as it turns out, our little Cady is quite the Houdini :ermm: . She got out of our yard (which has a 4 1/2 foot tall fence) about 6 times in a two week period. On two occasions she was gone for over 30 minutes, while we desperately searched our subdivision. She made me crazy thinking about how she might get hurt out there, and though it broke my heart, we put her on a 50 ft rope. :D That lasted all of a good week...she looked so sad out there, not able to run anymore, while Cassie had full reign of the 1/2 acre. It just wasn't fair. Two weeks ago, my son let the girls out but forgot to put Cady on the rope...and she was gone again. This time, after another 30 min search she walked back home all by herself. That was it - I just couldn't risk her getting out anymore, and the estimate on a taller fence I got was about 4 thousand (crazy, I know). So, we now have installed an electronic fence...and the girls just finished their first week of training. Cady continuosly tests the yard (why does she have to be so darn smart??? :) ), but I guess things are going very well. I was just wondering what types of experiences others have had with these fences. This is only being used as a secondary measure to contain the girls. We still have the fence surrounding the entire back yard so even if they went past the E-Fence, they'd still have to scale the fence (which unfortunately, Cady does with ease). So, yesterday we started the "distraction" phase...I had our neighbor walk into our property along the E-Fence perimeter...and neither girl crossed the boundary ---oh, they really wanted to, but they just barked & knew to stay. Unfortunately , when my neighbors golden retrievers were out later that day, Cassie ran through the boundary. She did realize it was a no-no and actually ran back in! I guess I'm just trying to do the right thing to keep the girls safe...I mean we've had 6 dogs stay over all at one time and it did not occur to ANY of them to climb over the fence. Now, Cady comes along, and climbs the fence, climbs trees too (as high as she can go). We'll see how things go. Overall, I think they are doing well for training just a week.

I'm also attaching a few pics of the girls playing in the yard....Cassie LOVES the sprinkler...Cady just likes to swim!

Any ideas or suggestions for my fence-climber?

Oh, sorry about the pictures. I shouldn't have added them into the post. I'd revise the post, but I don't know how to do that. ....

Actually, I just revised them. Hope that's better.

Those pics are wonderful. You should enter the one with Cassie in the sprinkler in a contest, that is a great shot.

Sounds like your doing a great job with keeping the kids in the yard. Hope that E-fence works out for you.

I had a fence climber with my first dog, about 20 years ago. What kind of fence do you have? If it's a metal cyclone fence that's what I had and I put those slates in it. Kelly would just put her foot in the fence and walk up it. She didn't jump it she could of, but she walked up it and over. when I put those slates in it she couldn't get her foot into the thing. after that she just decided she didn't want to go any place. She was my dob/rot mix and was just too smart.

Ella: One side of our fence is a wooden picket fence, and the other 3 are chicken wire type with suppporting posts every 6 to 7 feet. She is climbing it just enough to make it lean so that she just climbs completely over it (it must be pretty uncomfortable, you'd think). This morning she ran past her electronic boundary to chase a chipmunk. She didn't even think twice about it. I had to remove the collar to walk her back into the safe zone :D . I've just never had a dog want to get out so badly...now she just stands at the edge of the boundary at the spot she gets out and stares longingly, sniffing the air as if she's being guided by some far-off scent (other dogs maybe? dunno). It's not like she doesn't have company in the yard already. She used to get out another area, but we reinforced that spot by adding additional posts, unfortunately she just found another vulnerable spot though (too smart and persistent). I guess I'll have to add so many posts that there is no chance of any bending it in the middle. Thanks for the advice, tho.

Kenny's Mom: Thanks, I like the picture of Cassie too...she's like that every time she sees water. She thinks the sprinkler is for her ONLY! Kids get out of her way and off her property!! My brother took an amazing picture of his Pitt that would win a pet contest any day, though....it's hard to capture those moments because they are only there for seconds...but he did it...This is his dog, Chapulin (grasshopper in Spanish). He's such a gentle dog...
