That's a pretty name for a real pretty girl. How are you all doing? I think about you and send good thoughts and energies your way.

We are so happy that you have a new dog that is wonderful. It will take you time to heal from
what had happened to you.We all understand your fear after what happened that will stay with you for
a long time.
Hopefully a day will come that you will bring another furkid into your home and hear the pitter patter of their paws running and playing through your home.
We all learn through our mistakes that aren't always the best way to learn, but we do learn from what ever happens.
Just as Arda said dogs should always be feed in separate places or in a crate so that it keeps your dogs safe at all times.
You never know what could set a dog off.If anyone knows, it would be Arda, look at how many she has and needs to keep them all safe. She does it day after day.
Hopefully your new Kaia will let you know when your ready for another friend to join the family.
My thoughts are with you, that you will get past this and be a happy family again soon.

I feel that a temperament test will only show you if a dog has issues with food aggression towards people and even that is manageable if you use a crate.
Until we can see things from the pack view of a dog I think it's always best to respect their space, be observant, and be in charge as a good pack leader would be.

Kim, don't feel guilty for not having a playmate for her!!! Love her and enjoy time spent with her and let her grow up... Don't rush into a decision... You will find ways to socialize her that you are happy with... every one though has pros and cons... doggie day care... dog park... even play with a neighbor dog... so try to make her your primary focus when you are out somewhere with her...
and you will all be happy!!!
