Last night when Joaquin and I got home Alley had passed away in her sleep. She went peacefully, she was still laying on her blanket, exactly how she always slept. We adopted her in 2007 when she was about 3, so she was somewhere around 10 years old. She was never sick, she was still running around the yard earlier that day and wrestling with Stone.

She was a grand dog. She was amazing. She was so smart. She could sit and think about something, like how to open the garbage or how to escape a pen, and then she would do it. She was so athletic, she could climb out of a 6 foot fence, she cleared 2+ foot "walls" in agility class, she ran across the cat walk like she was a cat. She was fast as lightning. She once caught a rabbit in the yard, yet she accepted Polly when I brought her home as a tiny kitten. She was so protective of me and the yard. She was the leader of our gang of mutts.

She was my best friend. My partner. My love. My protector. My joy. My girl. I'll miss her so much, and I'm so very grateful that she was mine.

Be nice to your brother Alley, there's no fighting allowed in heaven. I'll see you soon baby girl. Run free Alley....

Oh, no, such sad news.  I am so deeply sorry, Sarah and Joaquin.  I know there are no words to make this easier for you.  No dog could ask for a better life than the years Alley spent as a cherished member of your family.  I'm sure Page and Buddy have welcomed her to the Bridge already, and they will play and run free until the day you are all reunited again. :Rose: :Rose: :Rose:

Oh no!!!! I'm so sorry Sarah and Joaquin. I'm so glad she went peacefully in her sleep and didn't suffer.

How are Bay and Stone handling her absence?

This is heartbreaking news.

Downhearted to hear about Alley's passing.  You, Buddy, Bailey and Stone gave her love and a good life and I'm sure she knew it.  She might have even been dreaming about her loving family when she slipped into eternity.  Run free.

I'm so sorry....what a shock that must have been for you two.  I can only pray that this is how my Chyna girl goes when it's her time.  No pain or suffering, just slip away.  Alley was a cool dobergirl.  She seemed so confident and that is such an awesome Doberman quality.  I'm glad she got to spend her life with you and your pack....keeping everyone in order:)  Run free sweet Alley girl.
