Jane, Larry and Tiki,
I may not have ever had the pleasure of meeting Queen Shaylee but I sure felt like I knew her forever from your wonderful stories. I am so sorry for your loss and the pain you are feeling. I can say that everyone here is sharing in your pain with you as Shaylee was a part of everyone's lives. I wish I could make it all feel better but there is nothing that can mend a broken heart but time, love and fond memories. Run free in your new Kingdom Queen Shaylee.

Oh, Jane, when I saw her name I didn't even want to read your post-- ignorance is bliss. I am so very sorry for your loss. No matter how many times we go through this, it doesn't get any easier. I pray that as time goes on you will remember her with smiles & not tears. You, Larry & Tiki are in my prayers. :)

I want to thank all of you from the bottom of our hearts for your kind thoughts, words, and prayers. They have been very comforting during a very difficult time.

Tiki is a little lost, but is taking it better than we are. She is having a hard time finding a reason to eat and a reason to go racing out of the house without her partner in crime to compete with. We are walking 6-8 miles a day so she is pretty pooped. We have a dog next door now that feels free to come over and walk on the deck and look in the windows. I don't know if you all remember Rowdy or not. The white german shepherd that the girls gave a run for his money last year. Well it's keeping her quite busy chasing him under the fence. It is weird, though, because she is so subdued.

I'm the one who is really lost. I can't remember to give Tiki her pills because Shaylee was the time keeper in the family. Tiki doesn't beg for attention like Shaylee did. It's almost like not having a dog at all. I mean I've never been without a begging, needy canine! Tiki is pretty independent.

Sorry for talking your eyes off. It's a hard transition.

Love you all and thank you again for your help. Your words are very comforting.

Jane and Larry and Tiki

What in the world are you doing coming in the back door?  I don't know if I have ever seen you come in the back door.  I am usually with you.  How did you get to the store without me?  How did you get out of the house unnoticed?  What is going on here?????  Are we off our schedule?????    AAAAAAAAAaaaeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!??????

I protest.

If you are near us, Dude and Isabel would give Tiki a run at the food dish. I always thought Dude really enjoyed his food, then came Isabel!

I'm so sorry you guys have to go through this. It is so hard. We are all here for you. ((Hug))

There you are, way up north in God's country.....Remember, the sun will come out tomorrow. New birds are chirping in the trees. New foliage on the trees. More frogs to eat. New adventures and new memories to be made. Now pack those memories of Shaylee in that special place in your heart and carry her with you. God promises that life will go on. It's all around you. His promises. Love you, Arda

Jane, Larry and Tiki I am so sorry to hear about Shaylee, and so sorry it has taken me so long to tell you this.

Mary and Titan

Dogs don't know about beginnings, and they don't speculate on matters that occurred before their time.
Dogs also don't know-or at least don't accept-the concept of death.
With no concept of beginnings or endings, dogs probably don't know that for people, having a dog as a life companion provides a streak of light between two eternities of darkness
