Police: Dog Left To Die In Crate Near Dumpster
Police Looking For Person Responsible For Animal Abuse

LIVONIA, Mich. -- Livonia police are looking for the person who left a mixed labrador retriever dog locked in a crate on hot concrete, next to a Dumpster, covered with a blanket.

Authorities said employees at Blockbuster Video at Six Mile Road and Middlebelt Road in Livonia found the dog inside a crate that was so small she couldn't stand.

The dog was taken to the Westland Humane Society, where she was determined to be severely malnourished. The dog has a skin rash so bad, authorities thought she may have been burned, but said it was the effect of months of neglect.

Humane Society officials said her ear is barely hanging on and will have to be amputated.

Authorities said the dog, whose name is Hope, is going to live and will be adoptable once she recovers.

Any person who has information that could lead to an arrest could receive $500.

I hope they find who did this. It would only serve them right if they went without medical care.

OMG!~ We were at that Blockbuster store last week!!!
Its just up the street from the Bellecreek kennels where
they hold the Dobe club classes...
I hope "Hope" pulls thru & they get the person/people who did it!!!! :0(
The poor thing, they should put the one's who did it in a crate by
a dumpster in 90 degree weather & leave them....

Saw on the news last nite that Hope is doing better & that
they figured out that she was used to bait pitbulls, so why
she is so torn up. So human society people say she will
pull thru & are looking for the ones who did it...

I wish we could all convey how we all feel bad for Hope. What a horrible life, I sure pray she finds some good family to do nothing but love her. I am sure she is going to be scared to death and I hope she can get over it and not be scared of humans or other dogs.
Today is such a sad day in the world. Just makes me wonder what tomorrow may bring. Or the next.....Or 10 years.

I did hear one good thing last night tho. California is trying to pass a law that everyone must spay/neuter their pets by the age of 4 mo. Not sure of all of the details, because I only caught the tail end.

Just sick to my stomach and my heart is just breaking.....sometimes I just hate people ....how would they like to be treated the way that poor darling was....ohhhhhhh wut I could do to people like that scares me..........

That poor thing. What kinda of person could treat any animal that way? It really does make you wonder about our world today. That person should be put in a cage and treated the same way.
This kinda of stuff really makes my MAD.
