Hi Guys! My little Jewel died in my arms before we could even get to the vet. I HAD to go to work that morning, but went in early so I could get to the vet as early as possible. I had put her in a chair so she would be comfortable. Aaron stayed with her. When I got home, as bad off as she was she lifted her head for me to pet her and pick her up and she died. Gracie is just devastated. I asked Aaron why the top of Jewel's head was wet and apparently Gracie stayed right by her licking her head. Gracie has become another appendage; she won't leave my side. Thanks for all your support and kind messages! Love Vicki, Aaron and Gracie.

Oh, Vickie I am so sorry for your loss. Jewel's body is free of seizures and she died knowing how much she was loved. Mary

Vickie; The one thing I know of life is that .....there are worse things in life than death. She went to the bridge knowing she was loved and cared for. Her body is free of all the pain and she will never really die as long as she is in your memories. Don't cry. Remember all the things she gave to you. She would not want you to cry. My heart goes out to you. Arda

Vickie,
I'm so sorry to hear of your loss of Jewel...how comforting it must have been for Jewel, though, to be able to go straight from your arms, directly to the bridge...may your memories of her warm your heart, and keep her spirit alive.

Vickie, I am so sorry about your baby girl Jewel. My heart goes out to you and your son, and Gracie, and I know no words replace the heartache or the tears. Arda was so right, Jewel is only getting her "rewards", free from pain, free from sadness, she is watching over you now. When you cry, and you will, remember for each teardrop she gave you a memory...wipe your tears and smile at your memories, in time they will be a ray of light.
I know our little guy missed our Blossom so much, we lost her this February, and he used to curl up in her big legs and sleep and walk and breathe for her...it is extra painful to watch a pet miss another pet. At times I still hurt over it. Even now with our new Abbey, we had to take Blossoms blanket out of her crate and clean it completely for Abbey (I couldn't bear to do it until now). Our little guy got a smell of that blanket and it was as if he found his long lost sissy and I had to pick him up to get him off, I bawled and bawled, it is hard. But now he's finding Abbey to be his "sissy2" and both of us can find comfort in that, it ISN'T loss, they are not truly gone, it's just time to get memories sorted out and linger on the ones that made us laugh.
I wasn't trying to "ramble" Vickie, I hope it doesn't seem so, I simply wanted you to know that someone understands and is in the gap for you on bended knee when those moments breeze thru.

By the way Rusty'smom, about a week ago I bought an Indian doll with angel wings; your icon on your message to me was pretty poignant! Thanks.

Vicki, I'm very sorry for your loss. I'm glad that you were able to be there with Jewel at the end. Nothing is more reassuring during that hard time than the arms your Mom. All my sympathy.
