I'd like to get Akina's CGC this summer - after we 'polish' up her skills. The little 'Chunky Monkey' needs some practice.

Has anyone seen any 2008 schedules for CGC or other certification opportunities?

What about the weekend of the WAE? I think it's in August or September sometime...? And if she's old enough, you could also do the WAE with her (I think she has to be at least 2 yo). I'd like to take Mia for the WAE this year...she was too young last year.

Yes...I'd like to do the WAE with Akina.
She is a little skittish of 'new' things, so I'm not sure if she'd pass that or not.
It doesn't really matter if she does or not though.
But...Yes, I can definitely prep her for the CGC that weekend. And maybe Kenny and I can work a bit more on our obedience this time and shoot for a higher score than 74pts. (Sorry Brownsmom, we aren't settling for a tie this year!! lol)

The WAE and the CGC on the same day? Zeus and I are so there! He got his WAC last year, but I want to do the CGC too. He should easily be ready by August.
Daisy, we did not get a picture for passing the WAE last year, do you think we could get a picture taken this year?

I really want Alley to get her CGC this summer too. Maddie says she is ready. Since it's not until August, maybe Buddy can get ready by then too. He knows what he is suppose to do, but he still needs more socialization. He still gets nervous in new places and with new dogs. If he is not ready can we still bring him? The socialization with all those dogs would be great for him. I've never seen a WAE competition. I have read about them on the board, and maybe Alley and I will give that a try too. Do I need to get their ILP numbers before this? I think I do.
She needs to be ILP'd for the WAE but not for the CGC.

to do the WAE, but not the CGC.
The WAE is a 1 time thing, if you pass you get the certificate from DPCA & dont
have to re-test. For the dogs who didnt pass last yr, yes can take test again.
Yes, you can bring any dogs you want, they dont have to test for anything, just
come & spend day.. We will have our pot-luck BBQ lunch & raffle & maybe a
item to auction for SCD.. The park-Island lake is a nice place & dog friendly..
Both clubs have been having their events there for many years now..
We will be getting flyers printed soon, so will let you know & can send them out
to who needs them. Dont have to pre-enter CGC, but is cheaper to pre-enter
WAE test... I will be one to send entrys to.
Our club isnt having a obedience/ conformation match this yr...
But there will be one in june in willianston some of the SCD gang has been to..
I will post info on new topic...

The American Temperament Test Society is doing a test Sunday, May 4th in Muskegon, sponsored by the Muskegon Lakeshore Obedience Training Club. This test is almost identical to the WAE and is also open to mixed breeds. Dogs must be at least 18 months old and you do not need an AKC ILP.

Thanks for posting this, I have been there to watch the test years ago, nice park, if they are doing it at the same place. I marked it on the calendar and will check out the site.
