Arda,
E-Mail me the contact number or have Kathye call me with it. Once I have the number I'll call to set up a pick-up day/time.

To everyone that was here this weekend and saw that Jeannie was not walking again, She is back on all four. She's in the bitching and complaining stage and wobbling around like she's drunk. But she is eating and moving on her own again. I have her on Methocarb 3 times a day to relax the muscles and then we will start her back on predisone. Just in case you ever need the advice. It always starts as if she has wobblers and she gets real stiff. We carry her in and out for a few days and start the meds and she comes out of it for awhile again.

That is good to hear! I am very happy, was worried about her!

Geez. Thank goodness she has you, Arda. It seems you have the formula to keep her going. Good news!

Let's go back to Saturday and post that Little Pete was taken to The Vet Clinic. He had emergency surgery Sunday for intusseption. That's where the intestine pulls inside itself. It requires surgery to repair. He was ready to come home. He's a rack of bones but he is feeling much better and he is hungry. He really looks bad but we started him on small meals 5 times a day. Acepromasin to sedate him a little. And a whole lot of prayers. As near as we can figure he must have been in trouble when he came into Total Pet Care from Amelia, Ohio. Because they were going to alter him for us, he wasn't fed. So they didn't see it. Then we were down there Thursday and the two boys we picked up were still very groggy. On Friday Kathye reports he is vomiting everything he eats. We gave him flagel and put him to bed. Sat he was on his way to Dr Karen. Poor little thing. That set us back another $1000. I know, I'm surpose to keep the General Discussion section all roses and honey. But maybe everyone should know what keeps me awake all night. We covered $2700 in vet bills last week and I thought I'd faint today when we started through the bills for one week. The Beagle with the broken legs that we could not help. His bill is $437. At any rate another $2300. Then the call that the Ohio breeder is ready to release 3 more dogs. So I did some more under ground work. We took 2 females from there last month. Courage and Skylar. In the mean time, she breeds two other females and has a litter of brother to sister pups. That's three litters since we took the old females. Some of you will remember Thunder and Lightning that we took in a few years back. The mange was so bad that we could not recognise them as Dobes but we had the papers on them. We spent a fortune on them. The breeder, Jane Crooks, from Unity Center, Ohio. We absolutely can not take any more of that mess and WHY IN HEXX won't the authorities do something about her. 30 some dogs and more pups coming in a single wide mobile home that makes a city dump smell like a rose garden. Where is Peta; The Ohio Ag Department; The Animal Control Officers; The Township Zoning Commission; all of the concerned people that want me to foot the bills on them.
Well I guess this post looks like I need a rest home. It's rescue. And this is what really happens out here in this award winning occupation. The long and short of it all is that I AM paying my summer taxes this month. No more dogs are coming in here and I don't care how sad the case. We are full and we are broke again. And if this post does not say it all, I'm tired.
This summer my Aunt had her 100th birthday and the whole family was there except me. My best friend is very ill. I haven't seen her in several years, why, we are both in rescue and it governs our whole life. Until a bunch of these dogs are out of here and in GOOD homes we are not taking anything more.

The more things change the more they remain the same.

Hi Arda!

*door opens*

*Bark*  *Bark*  *Bark*

Peanut, you barked at your Dad??

It's me, Peanut, don't you recognize me?

What in the world are you doing coming in the back door?  I don't know if I have ever seen you come in the back door.  I am usually with you.  How did you get to the store without me?  How did you get out of the house unnoticed?  What is going on here?????  Are we off our schedule?????    AAAAAAAAAaaaeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!??????

*oof*

I protest.

  Whadja bring me?

Look I found a 19 squeaker toy for 75% off!

*squeak* *squeak* *squeak*

Peanut's Ponderings:  *squeak*  is music to my ears, nineteen "squeaks" will be music to theirs.
