Wait - Kim Downer shows with you guys - so is that your Heather that is the President of the DPC of MI? That would answer which one to join, right?

Hi all,
Im president of the Dobe club of Michigan, Heather is the
secretary & Kim Downer is the treasurer.
We meet on a monday nite once a month, skip a couple months
sometimes due to weather ect.
Our Meetings are at the Big Boy Restaurant on 6 mile in livonia
off I-275 at 7:30 pm.
Need to attend 2 meetings & then put in application. Dues are $12.00
or $20 acouple a year.
The Dobe club of Detroit is other michigan club, they are the ones
who have the obedience classes on tue nites at Belle Creek Kennels
on Munger off Middlebelt 2 blocks south of 6 mile in livonia. They hold
their meeting there as well. dont know dues fees ect..
As for joining the DPCA, yes Kim & I & Arda belong so can sign for you...
It is $30 to join. My Heather has to join as well as it is new rule for
chapter clubs to be officer, have to be DPCA member as well...
With the winter weather, it would be long trip to come to meetings, but
I can post when they are if interested....

I would love to see a resurgenance of membership into the State club. I am as delinquent as any one. It just seems there is never enough time for everything but, it would be my hearts delight to see rescue and breed club united for the good of the breed. Kim and Daisy have supported us and aided where ever they could. I think we scared Kim to death the first time she came out here but she needed to know that not everyone loves our beloved Dobes the way she does and that we are just here to pick up the pieces. I would love to see all of you put the effort forward to be members. If you will give the old rah team rah, I will make the time if I have to shootz a few Dobes. The Breed Club has knowledge that they will share with us and we have pedigrees that we will share with them. Hand in hand, little steps at a time, could result in saving the breed itself. Concider this seriously and remember....FOR THE GOOD OF THE BREED we are Dobermann owners. Daisy is by far one of the most reknown authorities of the breed I know of. I call her on all the pedigrees that come in here, good and bad. My respect goes out to her and Heather....well you have seen her handle some of our roughnecks. If I had one in the ring today...she would be the handler.

When is the next meeting?

Hi,
Our Dec meeting is at Kim's House tomorrow 12-4 at noon.
It is our annual meeting/election & awards....
I will post when I know the date for Jan 06'. meeting.
Several of the DPCM members have worked w/ rescue
for years. For about 20 years our secratery Maggie Hilliard
WAS DOBE RESCUE around here.. She passed away in 1993
at 88 from a fall where she broke her hip & blood clot got to
her heart, Arda/I still miss her. She is the person who taught
me about "LOVING" the Breed... I hope I can keep up what
she started so long ago...
AND Yes Arda, you do need to come join us... But know how
hard it is to get away...

Okay, a littlle more notice would be good.. Actually the way my life is right now notice wouldn't have made a bit of difference. If Kim lived in West Branch...hahaha! I hate being this far up north - I feel like I miss out on everything...

I really do want to get involved. I have been doing some web surfing and I have lots of questions.

Oh, and I bought a Dremel. It seems to have about 300 attachments - I am afraid the thing will build itself a robot and take over the place. The dogs looked at me like "Bring that near us and your couch is toast..." I showed them an article with a picture of a happy dog getting her nails done while her friend waited to have hers done too, but they seemed pretty skeptical.

Hi,
NO, you dont have to be a member of a dobe club to show in
any events. Theres alot of people shoing in obed, agility ect
that dont belong to a club.
Our next meeting is monday Jan 16th..

That is the same day as the Midland kennel club meeting. You have to go to three of theirs before you can join...I will probably go to your meeting instead.

HI,
The DPCM meeting at Big boy is about 40-45 minutes from
bridge.. Mostly freeways tho...
Some people come about 7pm & have dinner, some just have
desert or some just coffie or pop...
We just talk about our up coming events & if we get correspondence
from dpca or such...
Most meetings last maybe 45 minutes...

Heather, that sounds like a good idea!!
When we get closer to the date,I'll be able to commit myself better to going, although I'd really like to, this thread has sparked my interest.
