All through my area of Ohio many kind minded people are having these days. A swarm of voluteers pick a day and meet at a place that needs help. They are so many projects...yard work for seniors to get them ready for winter, they also do small repairs and a few are happening at places that benefit animals. Stuff the truck or van or car with supplies, food, bedding, shampoos, anything that helps. The club I belong to brings supplies to a certain meeting for a group that is for senior dogs. This got me thinking that "The Swamp" and Arda could sure use such an event. I'm trying to think how I can get this started from here in Ohio. Even classrooms of students help with projects to supply these events. Is there anyone close to Arda's location that could help with this? We should probably hurry as winter is knocking at the door now. Linda

We aren't really close, but anything we can do to help, just let us know.

It matters to the one you save.

I am close.....I have offered and offered and she tells me "NO".
She thinks I am frail too, well I do all kinds of work around here,
yes like climbing and trimming trees Arda and I have some more to do.

I better add here, this weekend I cannot.

I'd love to be involved in something like this. I'm about an hour from Arda's and would be happy to come out and do anything I could or bring donations of needed items. Maybe it could start with Arda making a list of jobs that need to be done and specific items she is in need of. I know there is a wish list on the home page here, but it's kind of general. And, yes, I know monetary donations are always needed and appreciated, but the type of event Linda is suggesting could do a lot for everybody's morale. Heck, I'm a terrific poop-scooper, if I do say so myself, and I'd be glad to just bring my bucket and poop fork and stroll the grounds.

There is always poop scooping.
I have the space cleared out for the water barrels to be brought in and filled.
I'm working on the yard and trying to get it ready for winter.
I have a pile of crates out doors that need to be in or to the dump.
Kennel runs need to be repaired.
A couple of dogs need to be walked and introduced to a leash.
Need help getting the vent fan covered in the ceiling.
Air conditioner has to be covered for winter.
Some light bulbs need to be changed.
Little things that I can't find the time for.
I'm getting old and cold at my hands will not hardly work anymore.
A chain is only as strong as it's weakest link.

Arda, I will be there. I will do WHATEVER
is needed. We are all good "pooper scoopers".

This weekend is a little busy, but maybe. I will ALWAYS let
you know prior to making sure it is good for you.

We are all HAPPY to help with whatever it may be.

Is there a day and time that works best where those who want to participate can all come out at the same time, if they're able? Or would you rather not have a big crowd all at once? Let us know what would be the easiest on you, Arda. If you prefer, I guess we could just contact you individually and make an appointment. Do we need to bring any tools, ladders, etc.?

Ok, I talked to my boss and I can get Saturday, November 9th off. Does that date work for everyone?

Make sure you dress warm, and bring dry socks. My feet always seem to get wet there. You will get dirty. Dogs will jump on you with muddy feet. Don't wear your Sunday best. Arda has any tools we might need, but bring work gloves. Please, don't bring your dogs. As much as we would love to see them all, it will be impossible to get work done with the dogs all running around.

Arda get those lists going. :)

*Bark*  *Bark*  *Bark*

Peanut, you barked at your Dad??

It's me, Peanut, don't you recognize me?

What in the world are you doing coming in the back door?  I don't know if I have ever seen you come in the back door.  I am usually with you.  How did you get to the store without me?  How did you get out of the house unnoticed?  What is going on here?????  Are we off our schedule?????    AAAAAAAAAaaaeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!??????

*oof*

I protest.

  Whadja bring me?

Look I found a 19 squeaker toy for 75% off!

*squeak* *squeak* *squeak*

Peanut's Ponderings:  *squeak*  is music to my ears, nineteen "squeaks" will be music to theirs.

That is a great date Sarah! Now, no one should feel bad if they can't make it. Any donations no matter how small can always be used for things like bleach and brooms and oh heck another list Arda. I know the homepage has a list of needed items. Linda

I would say around 11am. That way Arda can do the feedings and meds for the morning rounds before we all get there. Trust me, it's easier for her to do that because the med combos and who gets what and which dog eats which type of food is too confusing. Even when I do it with her, she makes the bowl and then tells me who to take it to. Plus, the morning "deposits" will have just been made in the yard, so we will have lots to scoop LOL.
