Housing a female dobe girl...

Her former owner is getting married. Apparently, his fiance made it clear that the dog had to go due to her knocking down her 4 yo son with her exuberance. His reply was "then she's getting rid of her f-ing cats" Yeah, good way to start a marrage....
Anyway, he waits till the last minute to give up this dog, leaving a trainer friend of mine no time to line up a home. So she begged me to take her.
I like her, but I really don't want three dogs. My house is busting at the seams with 5 birds, and two dogs, let alone adding another high energy baby. So I'm looking to find her a great home. Between myself and my friend we have several possiblilties and are waiting to hear from several people. But I'm worried that if none of these people want her, then I have to go another route.
My friend would like to see this dog not end up in a kennel situation. So I'm wondering if it's possible to list her through SCD's website, but she stays at my home until she's adopted? That is of course if none of these people take her. I have no problem with Arda's, but I do know it's been pretty stressful down there lately. I'm willing to keep her with me. But I want her to go to a great permanent home.
Let me know if this is an option. Or if anyone is interested!!!

I couldn't be happier. They are just great people with great personalities! Wished I'd been a better host. Long night at work, late getting out and home, had to clean house, stinky Leeta needed a bath. I finally got to bed around 11:30, set the alarm for 1:30. Yeah it went off, I heard it about 3:03. Thank god, or they would have driven all the way from GR for nothing! Got to see me at my worst, unshowered and in my PJs. And not totally awake. And had to deal with a mentally handicapped girl from the AFC up the street while they tried to figure out were I was. So bless there hearts for there patience!!!!!!!! Nothing like driving to some crazy, stinky, sleep deprived womans house where a lingering handicapped person is bombarding them with chatter in the driveway.
God bless them....

I think Karen's dobergirl Chyna is only about 50 pounds too if I remember right.
My Tango hovers at 60, Tiki at 73. I can tell when Tiki is stealing her food because the weight goes up and down proportionally .... 59 ...74, 58 ... 75, 61 ...72. They get weighed every month at the vet.

What in the world are you doing coming in the back door? I don't know if I have ever seen you come in the back door. I am usually with you. How did you get to the store without me? How did you get out of the house unnoticed? What is going on here????? Are we off our schedule????? AAAAAAAAAaaaeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!??????

Dogs don't know about beginnings, and they don't speculate on matters that occurred before their time.
Dogs also don't know-or at least don't accept-the concept of death.
With no concept of beginnings or endings, dogs probably don't know that for people, having a dog as a life companion provides a streak of light between two eternities of darkness

You're right Jane, Chyna girl is right around 50-55#. My biggest dobe was Tango (Tank), who passed away in '02. He was 128#....and he wasn't fat, just tall and muscular. That's quite a range for the same breed of dog, huh?
Karen
Holy Wha!
I've seen some big male dobes in my time, but never one that big, I don't think.
Unless that red male at the Plymouth Dog Jog was that big. Do you remember him, Karen? The woman was a friend of Arda's and had that HUGE 1.5 year old red male who was retired from the ring. I remember thinking how could he be retired at such a young age? I remember asking how much he weighed but I've forgotten. I also forgot to tell Arda that she said HI.
Hey Arda, some woman came by who knows you with a big red beautiful male dobe and said HI!
jajajaja (Spanish for hahahaha, I'm making this up as I go along)
