Read this article on AOL this morning about the smartest dog breeds. Of course, I knew Dobermans would be pretty high on the list, but I'm just wondering. Is it just me or does anyone else think that's a Rottweiler and not a Doberman in the picture???!!!

(Realized too late I should have posted this under "Canines in the News. Thanks for moving it.)

Looks like a mix to me. Pretty sad, on top of being the smartest breed :santa: , in my opinion, they are also the most beautiful breed; so deserving of a full blooded Dobe picture...

I agree, Melinda. I didn't mean to say it looked like a purebred Rottie, but I thought it wasn't the most accurate representation of a purebred Dobie, either. I would have to say the same for the Golden. Some of the pictures were obviously professionally done and some of them look like they just stopped people on the street and took a casual picture of their dogs.

I've looked a little on the Web, and it seems like Stanley Cohen's ranking is the one everyone is using. He's ranked 79 breeds, according to a survey of dog trainers. Here's a link to the complete list:
