The Lugthart family came out this weekend to meet the kids. They were thinking of adding another senior Dobe to their pack. They have had a lot of Dobes and have two now, Cage & Ruby as well as two other dogs, Pity and Beth, and several horses and cats. They needed someone who would fit into the mix. Arda brought out Charm & Ruby, and Earnie. The three played with the family and each other and basically were just the good dogs they are. After awhile Arda asked them if they thought the girls or Earnie would be a better match, and they said they wanted all 3! Wow!

 

The kids will have 3 human teenagers at home as well as Mom & Dad to spoil them and give them lots of love. They have lots of room to play in a nice fenced area, full bowls, warm beds, and most importantly, they will be cherished.This was just a GREAT adoption! We are so happy for all of you, and we hope you will send us updates from time to time. Thank you so much for choosing rescue and congratulations on the new family members!

What wonderful news, the girls got to stay together and plus they gained a brother from SCD.  Now they have a whole family full of love.

We got a wonderful update on the kids from Chelle and LOTS of pictures!   I'm going to post her note and the pics here.

 

 

 

These are inside pictures. I am sending prints to Arda. They are all doing very well. They get along well together and love the family. They are on the bottom floor and my other dogs are on the top floor. This week everyone gets to hear the new family members. Next week they will meet on the other side of high gates. I like to take things slowly. My kids bedrooms are on the bottom floor of our walkout ranch along with a family room and two baths. Both girls like to lay on the couch and sofa. Ernie gets the dog beds on the floor.. He sleeps on Carol's bed at night. When we sit on the couch, Charm likes to lay on top of you. Ernie at first had to be petted constantly. Now he has relaxed enough to chew on a bone.

 

I switched dog food. I went to Science diet senior small kibbles. Ernie was gagging on the kibbles of my regular food and these seem to suit him better. My other dogs are much picker eaters and dont do science diet. In fact Beth. our 13 year old greyhound only eats her food with cottage cheese added, Ernie and company are much easier to please. Charm has a built in alarm clock and barks whenever it is feeding time or outdoortime. They have had no accidents. Again unlike Beth etc

 

I made an appointment with Terry, our vet, to check over Ernie, Charm and Rub. A get acquainted visit

They are all wonderful dogs Ruby loves to run and play. Ernie runs and comes back to sit on your foot and Charm trots around and checks in. Ruby and Ernie like to go in before Charm. She stays out until we call. She loves to bark at the animals. At first they ran away and Charm was so proud of herself. Now they have gotten used to her and ignore her presence. She still tries  but doesnt have much success.

The older married kids have all stopped by to meet the new family members That is all the news presently. I will keep you updated. Thank you again for trusting us with your wonderfu dogs. Keep doing such a great work.

The sight of Ernie running makes my heart happy.  He's getting some new blood in that old body.  From an unwanted dog to a beloved pet.  These were truly worthy of a good home.

These pictures and update just made my day!  You are a brave soul to take on three, but they are the best breed out there....LOL.   They all look like they just fell into Utopia:)  Thank you for opening your heart and home to not one, not two, but three homeless doberpups!

We got some more pictures from Chelle and she says the kids are doing great, getting along with everyone. She says inside Charm is the boss, but outside Earnie is the leader. She says he has to check all the new people who come over out before he lets the girls by them, lol. Charm is the "talker" reminding everyone it's time to go out or time for dinner. She says Ruby Red is their "blonde" dog. That she will tease Earnie and get him to chase her but the poor old man doesn't stand a chance of catching her. She says Charm is losing some weight and they had a vet wellness visit and all is good. They just love them!
