Joaquin and I took the kids down to Arda's to see if they could pick out a new dog. Well Arda let this girl out and you can tell from the video, Stone picked her. Her name at the shelter was Allie. I couldn't keep that of course, so we changed her name to Six. We loaded her into the car and brought her home.

 

She is a great little dog. She's sweet, SO sweet. Just wants to lay next to you and lay her head on you. She's great with the other dogs and with Polly. Polly was a little unsure at first, but Six never even tried to go after her. Within a week Pol was 100% ok with her.

 

She already is house trained, doesn't seem to chew anything, and knows how to sit. She's around 3 years old, same age as Stone. She was obviously very loved previously. She's a little pudgey, but I'm sure with playing with Stone and obedience training she'll lose some of that. We do a ton of heeling in obedience. I'm too late to get into the fall class, but I'm going to start it on my own with her tomorrow.

Congratulations, you guys!  She's looks like a fun gal.    She's pretty just the way she is, but I bet between her humans and her canine sibs, she's going to burn off those few extra pounds in no time and have a fabulous figure.   And the fact that she was being called Allie, well, that kind of sounds like destiny.  I like the new name you gave her, it's fitting.

Thanks guys, its amazing how well she has fit in.  She didn't chase the cat, she didn't crowd Bailey too much, she didn't mess in the house, didn't find things to chew on.  Really has been like she's been here the whole time.  She even sits and stays to wait to be released for feeding after only participating with help from us for 3 days and now she does it on her own.  She'll bark to alert us to passersby but nothing out of control.  The cat now parades around like she owns the place again totally unconcerned about Six.  Wouldn't you know it too, she also thinks she is a "lap dog" and shows this by doing a "Nestea Plunge" onto us with all her weight like a tree that has just been cut down!!  So far so good.

Makes ya wonder how dogs like her end up homeless.  Really gets to me. She's a sweetie.  But Snausage was a better name.

Joaquin and I are getting married next summer, so I've been looking at lots of wedding stuff. Well I found this online,

I'd never heard the line about the sixpence before. I think it's rather fitting. I'm thinking about SCD's Sixpence in my shoe...

Sarah and Joaquin were here today.  The kids were with them.  This Six is to die for.  She is one little doll.  Jumped out of there car like she knew right where she was.  You guys are lucky.  That little girl can melt the ice man.  She'll be in control in nothing flat.  Real soft and squeshy.  Like a Teddy Bear.  Black eyes.

You should have seen how excited she was to be at Arda's again! I guess my yard isn't as good as Arda's lol! She and Stone have bonded so hard and fast, it's amazing. A few more pictures...
