Sky had her drain tube out...no problem. She gets her stiches out Friday. She's still wants to chase squirrels though and hates the "cone"....just stands there with her head hanging low....poor baby. She's been kind of pent up and wants to run, run, run. She'll have a wicked mad scar but we tell her it's her tough chick scar.
She has a play date coming up Saturday and we're going on a two mile hike to get her back into her groove. ;-)

Dogs don't know about beginnings, and they don't speculate on matters that occurred before their time.
Dogs also don't know-or at least don't accept-the concept of death.
With no concept of beginnings or endings, dogs probably don't know that for people, having a dog as a life companion provides a streak of light between two eternities of darkness

My Ruby ended up with about a 6-7" scar on her back from some sort of creeping skin crud. If someone remarked on it, I just said...'should have seen the other dog'....Am I bad

Sky got her stitches out Friday and had a play date Saturday. I can't believe how fast she bounced back. She was walking on it the next morning after 2 hours of surgery. Jumping off the deck 36 hours after. It's like she never got hurt, though we see a slight favoring when she runs.
I swear we must have picked out the most soft-hearted, docile, sweet dob Arda had in the place 'cause all the other dogs just rule over her...drives me nuts. Even our 15lb cat takes her bed and pushes her around.
Both Abby and Jade (sisters' and friends' dogs) are dominant females. They play with her maybe 50% of the time, the rest of the time is spent taking her food, nipping at her and guarding all the humans. I need to find another submissive female for her to play with just so she doesn't get picked on! I know what most of you are thinking and no, I can't talk my husband into another one. After Sky's surgery, we call her our little money pit.
I think I'm due to post some pics soon. We took some of her wound but I didn't think folks would like to see it. I may show you her tough chick scar though if interested. Thanks for all the warm thoughts.

We spent Labor day weekend on Pelee Island in Canada with some friends and took Sky and their dog Jade. I'm not sure if this qualifies her as an international traveler???..she had a great time (slept well each night).
