Dogs don't know about beginnings, and they don't speculate on matters that occurred before their time.
Dogs also don't know-or at least don't accept-the concept of death.
With no concept of beginnings or endings, dogs probably don't know that for people, having a dog as a life companion provides a streak of light between two eternities of darkness

As long as there is food in anyone's dish here it is their dish esp with Nemo and Dewey. We just had an all out bar brawl with me grabbing a dining room chair and forcing them apart. Nemo got the minor wounds this time, every other time it has been Dewey, but it was Dewey's dish he hadn't finished with. And he wasn't taking it any more. This was scary, both dogs on their hind legs and front legs wrapped around each other and right on me. I think I showed them alpha that day and it wasn't them.Amazing what a little competition will do, Meko wouldnt do the stairs before......But when she saw Rocky run right up and get some lovin she decided the stairs werent really that difficult. Rocky and Meko dont really have any problems accept that Meko is really protective of her food dish. I think that will pass when she figures out there is plenty of food to go around.
