Dan has had Dobes for years and after losing his last boy he heard about SCD and decided to look us up. He has been patiently waiting to come out and meet Boogalou. He was approved a month ago, but between the weather and sick dogs, his appointment kept getting postponed. We finally got these two together and Boo showed off his best manners and won himself a new home. We are so happy for Boo! This boy came in terrified, he wouldn't even look at you. Arda put so much time and patience into him and he sure has come around. He is the sweetest boy and he really deserves this home. Thank you Dan & Martha for opening your home & heart to a rescue Dobe. We hope you and Boo have years of joy and friendship. Congratulations! :flower:

His crate is empty this morning and I have to say, I miss this poor fool.  He has been so traumatized.  And he is just a big puppy.  He slobbered all over Patty Whack every time they went out to play.  She always came in a slobbered up mess.  He's just a puppy.

Aww... I was wondering if he would miss her badly when I took her home. I'm glad he has a forever home. Congratulations to his new family. He is such a handsome boy !

We got a note from Dan today. Arda, I DO know how much work you put into Boogie boy and it's wonderful to hear this kind of update about him. You are an amazing lady, and thousands of dogs and families owe you a debt of gratitude. I just thought you should know that. ;)

"My compliments to Arda and the staff.  This dog is amazing!  His

temperament is absolutely perfect.  He fit right in very quickly and spend

the night in bed with us in the spot when my last dobie slept.  Good thing

we have a king size.  I heard the stories from Arda about his troubles, but

I think he knows he's home.  The only problem is my jealous female English

Setter.  Looks like she's in charge and that's OK with him.  I don't know

how much work you folks put into him, but there seems to be little for me

to do but some obedience stuff and enjoy this beautiful dog.  I'll keep in

touch and let you know how he's doing."

I got him now and he's mine forever!  He's such a sweetheart and well worth the wait.    I brought him home and after a brief bit of wonder and confusion, he fit right in and now it's like he's been here from the beginning.  Arda and the staff did a wonderful job with him.  After hearing about his troubles he's really fabulous, sweet, and loving.  A little bit of a problem with my English setter, also a rescue, and now they're buddies.  Speaking of buddies, I decided to call him Buddy because that's what Arda called him and I like it better than Boogalou.  I hope no one minds.  Now I'm trying to figure out if I rescued him or he rescued me.  I've had at least one Doberman since 1971 and now everything is back to normal.  Thanks to 2nd Chance for another opportunity to be happy, now everything is right again.

I work hard to name these dogs.  He looked like a Boogalu to me.  Give him a hug from Mom.  I miss him.  He was a real challenge.

I'm sorry, but Boogalou is too long to train with.  Please don't get too angry AW., Arda was calling him Buddy when I got there.  I'm a musician with lots of history and Boogalou brigs back some bad memories.  I backed some crazy dancers and that was their signature dance.  I get chills just thinking about em.  The money was good though.

I remember the boogie.  So that makes me older than you.  His original name was Buddy but Sarah had just lost Buddy and it hurt too much for her to hear us call him Buddy.  So I renamed him Booger which I got thumbs down from everyone so it went to Boogie.  Poor dog.  All those names and only one boy.

Arda changed his name from Buddy kind of for me, because I had lost my boy, who was named Buddy, and it was making me tear up that this boy was named Buddy too. My Bud was also a big mess and terrified when Arda got him. But, I love the name Buddy, and I hope he will make you as happy as my Buddy made me. I think Buddy fits him. :)

LOL, I'm Sarah. I was posting at the same time as Arda.
