Nelson's family sent us this picture and update on Facebook tonight. :)

Hi. My name is Brittany. My boyfriend, Jeff, adopted Nelson just over 5 years ago. I wanted to update you all on Nelson. He is doing great! After much work, he has become a big softy. He loves to cuddle and chase squirrels. He is still very protective of us, the yard, and his brother Grady. From what I understand, he was quite a handful. But has become one of the sweetest dogs ever. Nelson has to be one of you best success stories. Thank you so much letting Jeff adopt him.

I assume you all remember mean ole Nelson.  He had been so mis-treated that he wanted to bite everything and everyone.

After some hard work...and i mean some hard work....he has become the ideal family dog.  Nelson is good with anyone we bring in our home on two legs or four, even small children who he guards like hawk.  He even has some kitty friends next door.  He still watches the fence line like its his job, but he is a Doberman after all.

Nelson inspired a good friend of mine to get a young doberman who Nelson helped to train and teach the young un some manners.  He isnt afraid of tough love, but never once hurt his cousin lol.

Nelson is starting to get up there in age.  We are starting to think about adding another young doberman to the mix while we still have Nelson to help in the training process, which he is strangly good at.

Do you guys have any young males in need of structure in their life?  Agression issues OK.

Thanks!

Jeff

Our adoption days are Sundays, 11am-3pm. As Arda mentioned, we have several young boys that could use a good, consistent owner. Just let us know ahead of time and you are welcome to bring Nelson out to meet them. :)

Shoot now you both respond and I didn't notice! I think I can stop by on Sunday the 28th during the scheduled hours.  Please let me know if that will be an adoption day.  I will be up in Michigan already.

Thanks!

Jeff,

Yes, the 28th will work. Please try to give us an approximate time you think you will arrive. We don't want to have a dozen dogs loose in the yard when you are trying to enter the gate. :) Thanks!

Ladies,

I was still considering bringing Nelson up even though Zues is staying put. I thought you might like to see him since I was already planning on driving up.

Will you be around the compound tomorrow at 1-130?

Thanks!
Jeff

We will be here, rain or sleet or snow.  I'm going to work the fingers off their hands.

Jeff;  He is in great shape for his age.  Really great shape.  It was really great to see him.  Don't be so hard on him.  He's an old man.  A lovely old man.
