She looks so sweet curled up in her blanky. Darcy is being a great big sister. :) I am sending the camera tomorrow with Joaquin so we can get some pictures of Holly a.k.a., Tippy Toes.

It matters to the one you save.

There are times when we put Diddles out in the dog yard that she doesn't want to come back in for us. On those occasions we send Darcy out to get her. When Darcy comes back in Diddles follows. Good Girl Darcy! :)

Looking forward to pictures of Tippy Toes. Good luck tomorrow Joaquin.

I took Diddles to the Vet's office today for a nail trim. Her nails were starting to get a little long, and John didn't want to try cutting them himself just yet. Besides it gives her a chance to get out and meet people. I forewarned the Vet Tech about Diddles' background, she was really gentle with her and did the trimming in a slow, calming way. Diddles stood right there and only shivered a little at the end. I was really proud of her, I think she deserves a gold star on the forehead! :) I also called about obedience classes today. The place we want to take her, has a class starting March 21. But I felt that was too soon, I'd like Diddles to be more used to us first. There is another class starting mid May, so I signed her and Darcy up for that one.

Good for Diddles. Nail cutting is the worse thing my 2 can think of. I have not been able to get to Nemo's rear legs.
But, again, Diddles has come a long way, Lori. Good for you and John AND Diddles

What a brave girl Diddles is. Bay doesn't love to get her nails done, but she lets us do it. We did Al and Bud's first with her watching and then she seemed to see that it was ok. Good luck with class in May. Will both girls be in the same class?

Do you guys have pet supply stores up that way where you can take Diddles to get socialized a bit? Around here, Home Depot lets us bring in well behaved dogs. Not sure what type of stores you have up there in the "country"...LOL
We give dogs the time we can spare, the space we can spare, and the love we can spare. And, in return, dogs give us their all. It's the best deal man has ever made.

It's about 35 miles to the nearest pet store that allows pets. I've never seen a dog in our Home Depot. Is that chain wide?

That's pretty unusual, but nice that the Home Depot near you allows dogs that are well behaved.

Diddles is making progress. It's a slow road and there's a long way to go. She's starting to seek contact with us. She used to only come over for petting with the other dogs. This morning she came over to me and put her head on the couch cushion next to my leg. She stood there for several minutes while I petted her. This may not sound like much to some of you, but for me this is a huge step that she has taken.

She's getting much better going for walks also. She's still very timid but is walking much better.

Will try to get some good pictures for the next update.

Yea she has made great strides with you..
Know how she was when she came in, afraid
of everything... Sister Holly wasnt as bad, just
very timid, but wanting to trust someone.. Im sure in
time they both will be fine..

I've been taking Diddles on our walks now. Dude and Darcy are on the flexi leads so they can explore the fields. Diddles is tied to my waist with her leash, with just enough slack to not wrap it around my legs. She does pretty good most of the time. But anytime I stop, she dives behind me as far as the leash will allow and cowers there until we start walking again. As long as we keep moving she does all right. I talk to her while we're walking, so she learns to listen to me while walking. I walk them that way during the day, and in the evenings John takes Dude and Darcy on the flexi's, and I take Diddles on the leash.

Diddles is braver about playing with Dude and Darcy now. This morning it was 'Dober-wrestle-mania' in the living room. Dude participated some, but mostly it was Diddles and Darcy. It was so much fun to watch. I wanted to take some pictures of it to share with everyone, but the camera was on the other end of the house and I was afraid if I went and got it, they would stop.

Yeah!!! how can I "steal" the pics and scrap them for you?!?!?!?

You have to do what I do... keep one camera in the living room and the other in the bedroom... LOL That's how I get shots of the cats like this one... Emma (left) and George (middle) are cuddled together with Calvin (right)

She doesn't get them all. I had Diddles with me on tonight's walk. She was prancing right along. I'd stop and pet her every now and then to get her used to standing beside me. We'll work on sitting later. It's all baby steps.

She is a beautifully colored little girl.
And... a very lucky little girl to be in such a caring pack. :)
