It's been just one of those normal days at the swamp. Started a little late, 7:00 and had a few too many phone calls before I got to the dog house, 9:30. Have to be at Allen Animal Hospital by noon. Jean has surgery today. By the time I got home at 3:00 and got everyone out and more phone calls and email it was time for the dog house crew. In to do the House kids. I'm starved. My heart is headed to the chili and a Frank pita. I set the chili out to heat it when the "A" Team goes out. Run down and do the the "B" Team first. 9:30. Up the stairs. "What's this dich doing on the floor? Ghost? Where are you?" There's a dish on the floor. No dogs anywhere. Wonder what it was. Send the dogs out mix their food and meds. Reach for the chili and it's gone. She ate my Chili and the rest of the apple pie. And then she has the gall to return and ask for her dinner. I fed her. And I'm heading up for a Frank Pita. They are in the fridg unles Beefcake is still here. darn dogs. 10:10 and a pita all to myself. Good night fair princes and princesses. It all starts too soon again in the morning.

I tried to get the dogs, Ghost included, to eat celery and carrot sticks but they all turned their noses up because they knew there was something better up on that counter top.

As most of you must realize....Ghost is on a D-I-E-T. Not that she weighs more than Bubbles but it's beginning to be difficult to get her and all of her stuff behind the front door. So after her meager meal of 1 cup kibble and 1/4 can of Pedigree and while I was in the kennel she had a little snack to hold her over til I returned in case I was in fact in Montana for the winter. She had a container of Macaroni and cheese, topped off with 1/2 of a pumpkin pie I think I'm going to glue her mouth shut for a few days. She takes D-I-E-Ts like I do. We need a retraining staff here. She and Axel are going to split at the seems if this does not stop. I caught Axel with his head stuck in a sack of Puppy Chow in the house after he had had his breakfast this morning. Have I lost my touch or is it time for a doggy butt beating. I am at a loss. Help!

I am at a loss. Help!

Tell both of them that if they continue their out of control behavior they will end up at Spa L & J where there is nothing to counter surf because the owners can't cook, the dog food is kept in the garage, and they will be forced to walk to the mail box every day which is quite the hike now that they have been installed at the subdivision entrance. There will be no little opportunities for misbehavior because the warden ... I mean fitness director ... doesn't have to attend to a "k" team. After a week they will be learning to scrawl their paw prints on little slips of paper in an attempt to slip little "HELP!!! WE ARE BEING HELD HOSTAGE!!!" notes under the front door so that someone will take them home. But no one will because we never get anyone out this way.

I feel for you. Myles is the same way. He's trained us pretty good now to put everything up before sitting down to eat. However he hasn't learned to keep his mouth off of things that are not to be eaten. He chewed open by lotion bottle on his give him a chance day. I called my work after coming home to find this. The vet said he might get an upset stomach well next morning he vomits up a piece of the tube that was connected to the pump. Well NO breakfast for him and off to work he went with me. We watched him all day and had the vet check him out, she sent him home with a can of ID food. So hang in there and maybe they need to go to the spa.

Jane and Heather were here yesterday when Suzanne brought me a box of Tim Horten donut holes. I should have ate them yesterday because this morning there is an empty box on the counter and all the crumbs are gone. Is nothing off limits to her? The bed had 6 tennis shoes, 2 muck boots, sweat pants, sweat shirt, socks, and Ghost in it. She is a night mare and a half. So she gets her three kibbles, a sudafed, and a tablespoon of Pedigree in a large bowl for breakfast. That's it. Get tough time.

You know, many moons ago, when I was looking for a dog to adopt I liked Ghost but no, you said, she deserves a quiet home with no kids, you said....wah-ha-ha! Sounds like she deserves to be a kindergarten aide!

She just loves you very much and wants to eat all the food that is bad for you so you can stay healthy!

I joke here, but I left a ham in a crock pot on my counter. It had darn well better be there when I get home or there is going to be trouble... They have never stooped yet to taking the whole crock pot down, but I wouldn't put it past the Big Beef.
