WE DID IT!! We have our first obedience title!! (In Canada you can title in Pre-Novice.)

We had a miserable showing yesterday. After no sleep, getting to the show late, not settling in and then nerves - we blew both classes on Saturday. In the first one he actually left the ring to go visit with some dogs outside!! *sigh* The second one he stood up on the stay for recall and then got the saddest expression almost like "Oh no - I'm sorry mom."

Anyway, lots of sleep last night, a huge long walk this morning, lots of time at the show and some last minute instructions from my trainer and he was awesome! Not perfect - but he did really well. The heeling is good - the fronts not so much.

I'm thrilled and so proud!! I'll post the show pic as soon as I scan it.

Yay Tuxy!! On to Novice A next year! :whistling:

Congratulations Stef and Tux. Way to go. Mary

Dogs don't know about beginnings, and they don't speculate on matters that occurred before their time.
Dogs also don't know-or at least don't accept-the concept of death.
With no concept of beginnings or endings, dogs probably don't know that for people, having a dog as a life companion provides a streak of light between two eternities of darkness

Ha ha! I know ALL ABOUT demerits! *laughing*

I have to scan the show photo today. I'll try to have it up tonight!! (I didn't get any in the ring - I didn't have anyone there with me to take photos and the Specialties were on at the same time that I was in the obed. ring... :whistling: So not only did I not get any pictures - but I also missed most of the specialty!)

Daisy! Tux had a cheeseburger on the way home. :whistling: He also got one of those AKC Bunny Toys for his efforts! He was VERY happy to be back home and wouldn't budge from his bed for the rest of the evening!

I'm thinking DKC would be an incredible experience - we'll probably enter a class or two just for the heck of it! It's benched though isn't it? Does he have to be there ALL DAY?

Yea, DKC- Cobo hall is a Benched show.
The hours are like 10-4 or 5 pm each day, but when
your done in obedience, theres alot of events to see &
tons of venders to shop at so day go's by pretty fast
& being benched in the dobe section your w/ other dobe
people too. You bring a crate/pads, & we have take a old
sheet/blanket to cover crates to let them rest from the
crowds. You can pack a cooler w/ food/drinks ect & that
saves $$$ too. We always bring food with us, dont eat at
the venders unless is ice cream or something special..

Stef -

Great job!! You should be so proud. Tux is quite the guy. So happy to hear you two are doing well.
