On May 10, 2016, Sarge, aka Enzo, left this earth to join my husband, Murray. Sarge won’t be stopping at the Rainbow Bridge. His route will be a direct path to the man who was wise enough to bring him into our home.
After Eagle passed, Murray was looking for a buddy to keep him company while Carmina and I gallivanted around the country in search of a MACH.
Arda Barber of Second Chance Dobes had picked a beautiful black male as a potential adoptee. In the meantime, Murray went to the Second Chance web site and saw Enzo who was unique in having ears that stood without being cropped. That was the dog he wanted, and eventually he came to be known as Sarge.
In person, Sarge’s conformation was not that of a beautiful Doberman. His beauty came in a different form..a soft eye and a kind heart.
The papers that came with him said he came to Second Chance as an animal cruelty case. He joined our household to be abused no more. There he enjoyed life which included the chance to romp in the woods and joyfully roll in unidentified forms of poop with the rest of the Doberman gang. He was dysplastic, and his way of “leaping over logs” was a source of amusement to the humans accompanying the “gang".
Thank you,Laura Spear, for adding to his life and life span by providing that opportunity.
Thank you to Kate Hohauser Levey and her Technician for helping Sarge make the transition at home, a place where we all hope to die but are rarely able.
Be free sweet Sarge. Tell Murray that I love him
