SCD's Black Tie Affair

Even though I should never do Rally, we tried and only had to repeat one sign in Novice. We passed with a qualifying score of 96!! It's my first leg of Rally ever!! (It seems to be too much for me ... handle a dog and read signs ... kinda like chewing gum and walking... )
Then in pre-novice he was awesome!! It was terribly hot but he did everything until he did his "I'm melting..." impression and laid down during the sit-stay. *sigh* It WAS hot though. The long down was no problem. The judge still gave us second even though we didn't qualify since we would have had the second highest score.
The CGC was a walk in the park and I don't think he even noticed he was being tested.
What a great day!! I'm SO proud of him!!

You don't need an ILP for the CGC test and Bobbie the evaluator is a WONDERFUL lady! She is so helpful and relaxed about the test.
Plus the park is beautiful!! Daisy was saying they all go swimming after the WAC. It sounds like a lot of fun!!

I think I sometimes doubt myself and Duff more than I should, but I definitely want to give it a go. When exactly is that one in August?

Scott - I can even round up a group of people with dogs and we can simulate the test for you. It's nothing to get stressed about.

Yea the park is really nice, there is a fee I think its $6. The lake
across from the test area is nice for the dogs & people.. Bring a flexie
lead, towels, swimsuit, shorts-teeshirt whatever...
Its at the back area of the park, about a 15 min drive once you come
in. Several of the SCD gang were there last year & can tell you.

I'm SO proud of my little boy today!! He had an amazing day!!
See wearing him out at the kennel the day before really did work... LOL
Glad to hear everything went well!!! We are all proud of the boy, and YOU!!!
You don't do it for the titles but they sure are a nice way to recognize all the hard work you do with your pup!!!

Linda
The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated ... I hold that, the more helpless a creature, the more entitled it is to protection by man from the cruelty of man.
