Thanks so much for the pictures. They really look happy and content. They really are beautiful girls.

The group looks great! Glad to hear you are still in control over there, I know 2 new ones at once can be a challenge until everyone settles in, sounds like you are off to a good start. They look very happy thanks for giving them their second chance.

It has been far too long since we updated... Our sweet girls have spent much of the winter hiding from the snow and frigid winds. Some days we have literally had to drag Mya out the door for potty breaks! Today hit 40 degrees-so even with 8 inches of soggy snow on the ground-we got some extended play time. Turns out Bella LOVES to eat snowballs. Not great news for our attempts to build a snowman as she destroyed him with two big bites.. So we finally resorted to building a little one on top of the swing set to keep him safe! Looking forward to many more days full of warm sunshine so we can spend all day outside!

Bella paused in anticipation of the next snowball. When I took her picture instead of throwing snow- she tackled me. At least I got a good pic :)

What a cute video! It's too funny that she ate your snowman! LOL, she is a Dobe and she must have thought it was an intruder. :D

It seems SO nice out today, with the mild temps and the sunshine. Even with the snow piled 3 foot high, it feels like maybe spring is actually on the way.

Wanted to let you guys know that Bella went in for emergency surgery yesterday. Thurs night she had no appetite, was unusually calm and started vomiting at midnight. Friday morning ex ray found bowel obstruction in large intestine. Not sure
when she ate one of my socks, but it got stuck. Surgery went well- she is staying still and resting well. Doc said she is eating a little this morning. 72 hours and they won't worry about any unexpected bleeding concerns. Must have been sympathy for Mom- as I had an urgent hernia surgery yesterday. So I am hoping she will be home soon so we can rest up together. Will keep you posted as we hear from the doctor next. Valerie

Oh no, prayers for both of you for a speedy recovery.  Bowel obstructions are so scary--went through 3 of them with my Dobes no matter how careful I tried to be about keeping tempting things out of reach.

So sorry to hear that both of you are laid up.

My youngest Dobe Karma likes to chew socks, cardboard, plastic etc etc.

They are such loveable stinkers!

Hope you're both better very soon!

So sorry to hear about Bella's surgery and your's, hoping for a speedy recovery for both of you. These pups are stinkers sometimes, my Nixx had a blockage of a huge rock just 6 mos. after she came to me, she wore a muzzle when outside for some time until I could trust her and we worked hard on "leave it".

Prayers for you and Bella to recover quickly. I have had 2 hernia surgeries and I remember the hernia hurting SO badly. I'm  glad they got it taken care of. These darn Dobes, you can't keep an eye on them 24-7 and they are sneaky too. Why do they seem to think they are goats?

Bella came home today- soft food and only walks on leash for 2 weeks. Which means lots of extra work for Daddy since I can't lift over 2 pounds for that time either. She seems happy enough with the extra attention - staples down her whole belly. Will keep you all posted. Thanks for all of your well wishes and prayers for both of us.
