Linda
The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated ... I hold that, the more helpless a creature, the more entitled it is to protection by man from the cruelty of man.

The answer to tail or no tail. It no tail . He just buttered right up to my mom once she started petting he didn't want her to stop. Dakota and Myles are doing fine. She is still trying to stay away from him but in time they will grow more and more accustomed to each other.

Congrats on being able to pick one out, Kelly! I know it's so hard to choose with all those little faces just begging to be picked. Sorry I missed you!

How did you get out of the house unnoticed? What is going on here????? Are we off our schedule????? AAAAAAAAAaaaeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!??????

Quick note on Myles then it off to unpack more and more boxes . We took him to a Vet in Michigan because his nose was running he perscribed him amoxicillin and something for the sneezing. Well that didn't do anything so now that we are down in Illinois I took him to another Vet and this Vet put him on Antirobe with vanillia yogurt. He goes back in two weeks for a recheck. Wouldn't you know it the receptionist was petting his face after we came out of the exam room and asked me if the we had noticed the bump on Myles right side of his face just about an inch or two under his eye. She said it feels like a beebe pellet, well we are having the vet check that out when we go back. They couldn't believe what a ruff start this poor guy has had and is still such a sweet boy. I said of course he would be with the Swamp Mama's (SCD) intervention. I will let you all know what they say.

A good reference for judging whether a dog is in good weight or not is to place your thumbs along their backbone and wrap your hands down the sides along the barrel. You should be able to feel the ribs but not see them. Once you've reached this stage, you'll get a better idea of what his ideal weight should be. If you have to dig for ribs, go easy on the food until he sheds a pound or two then up it a tad for maintanence. If you can see ribs when the dog is just standing there, he needs to fatten up a bit.

You can still see hip bones, shoulder blades not so much the ribs. He needs to put on muscle there still is much to him maybe he just looks to dang skinny still. I'll see if Kori has dug out the cord to transfer the pictures from the camera to the computer yet and get some of Myles.
