What is it with the edge of Dobe ears getting dry crusty patches? I dont know what to put on them. It doesnt seem to bother Libby but it bugs the heck out of me. Any suggestions?

Bag Balm is good for everything :)

The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated ... I hold that, the more helpless a creature, the more entitled it is to protection by man from the cruelty of man.

Bandi had them, Bella has them too, even Breena a little bit. Mild frost bite?

I second Bag Balm. Bud had a torn spot on his ear that dried and cracked in the winter and I always used Bag Balm on it.

It matters to the one you save.

Sayman Salve. Used it for years. Same results as Bag Balm, just harder to find.

Thanks I will get bag balm and look for sayman salve. My first dobe had the dry spots also - it makes me crazy. I am sure I should be doing something about it - ---

Never had the problem, but I agree with Linda,
Bag Balm is great for alot of things.

I'm glad I read this. I've been wondering what happened to Shadows ears for some time now. I was thinking, was it a new treat I gave her or her thyroid.
Now I know what it is. I put some of the Protect a Paw on her ears and it seems to work on getting her ears softer. it's just on the ends of her ears never had that before. I guess the winter has just been too cold for all of us. Thanks for posting this. I was going nuts wondering what was going on with her now I know.

Oh Happy Ears!!!!
