I'm so sorry to hear about your dog's condition. I just lost my Saffron this past weekend and I was completely in the dark about DCM. Losing Saffron so suddenly was like having a mine go off under my feet. I didn't realize until after I read all the research online about DCM that everyday with your dobie is a gift since about 80 percent of the Doberman population has the genetic predisposition for DCM and that age is not always a factor.

I always expected to have a Doberman in my life because Saffron was such a joy. Now I feel a little gun-shy. I know I'll turn to a Doberman Rescue again someday but I have a lot to process before I can do that.

I hope your dobergirl fairs well.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss of Saffron. I lost my heart girl to DCM almost 2 years ago. I, like you, had never heard of it. My Page was sitting next to me and she layed down and was gone. Just like that. It is scary to know it is so prevalent in this breed, but my heart can't live without a dobe. I truly believe we are just separated for now. I will see Page again, and you will see Saffron. :P

It matters to the one you save.

Frances
I'm so sorry to hear about Saffron. You are in my thoughts and prayers. You're right about every day being a gift when they have DCM. Princess is taking 12 pills a day. 6 in the morning and 6 at night before we go to bed. She is so good taking them. but they are keeping her alive and we just take one day at a time.

Princess likes to go next door to my nighbors yard. She has 7 cats (not outside) but Princess can smell them. I took some pictures today. Hope they come thru. They didn't come thru. I took some small movies of her running around but they won't upload.

Princess looks like she is on cat patrol. :P
The embedded collars in his neck when we got him and he goes back and extends the gentle paw to the human race. One heck of a dog.

No still couldn't do it. comes back saying I didn't select a file to upload. so I'll just post some pictures.

As always Princess looks wonderful

Dogs don't know about beginnings, and they don't speculate on matters that occurred before their time.
Dogs also don't know-or at least don't accept-the concept of death.
With no concept of beginnings or endings, dogs probably don't know that for people, having a dog as a life companion provides a streak of light between two eternities of darkness
