I don't think it necessarily has to be an "original" recipe does it? I don't know of very many people that have actual original recipes. I think as long as it is a tried and true one that your family likes. They did a cookbook as a fund raiser where I used to work and some people submitted recipes that were found on the backs of prepackaged foods (like Bisquick for example), because they were family favorites.

Okay - I e-mailed recipes and I'll get a bio together later this week! I should probably be getting to work now though.... :( ;)

I didn't submit one original recipe. :( The ones I submitted are recipes that I have made over and over again. I think that they are tasty, not to mention very easy to make. ;)

Cookbook update. I have 41 recipes so far - including treats for our furry friends, canine and equine alike. Still, hardly enough. So, I'm extending the date. And, I only have 1 Bio besides my own . . . thank you Jane and Larry (Tiki and Shaylee, too!). I figure after tax time and Easter, maybe things will settle down a bit, and everyone may have have half a moment to devote to sending a recipe!!! :(

I incorporated the previous flyer re: SCD as the inside page of the cookbook. ARDA . . . I need a picture of you!!!!!! Cheryl, Jane, you may have one or two of Arda saved on your computer. I have gone back through this site and found some photos of the dogs. I can always use more to fill in some "white space."

I truly want to thank Jane, because the Bio part of this project is very exciting. It's kind of the nuts-and-bolts of SCD. People will be able to pick this book up and actually READ all the wonderful stories of, as Jane puts it: one man's trash is another's treasure.

So, keep the recipes coming . . . PLEASE! And don't forget the Bios: How you found SCD and who you came away with. Depending on the length of the text, I can use up to 3 pictures. Probably two, but it gives me some editorial license if you send three.

In case you've forgotten, send your material to: atlas520@centurytel.net.

As we say in the Court biz: thank you for your anticipated cooperation ;)

Yes, I plan on being out at the swamp on Sunday. 1:30 should be good. I'll be there in the morning, so that should work out fine. I'll print a rough draft of what I have so far. Thanks, Ella.

HAHA! Last night I made chicken fajitas. Tonight I ate leftover chicken fajitas. I'm making a new recipe tomorrow night - chicken and cabbage. I'll eat that for 2 days and then it will be chicken "I haven't quite figured it out yet" on Friday!

Yeah, we do the leftover thing too. I grilled a round steak on Sunday, we ate it again yesterday, and then poor Larry got to take the leftover in a sandwich today for work. I think it might have been the tough part, but I'll ask when he gets home. Nothing like gnawing your way through tough steak when you are eating with your coworkers!

I've got to get my recipes to Linda! eeps! :ermm:

How about things for the crock pot? Would that count? Dang, I CANNOT cook. But I know that if you put a pound+/- of spare ribs (or I like the thick cut ones - what they are called escapes me at the moment) and a bottle of BBQ sauce in the crockpot and cook it on low all day while you are at work the ribs will be great that night. You can cut up a small onion and add it if you like them....

Hey Linda - I know you're real busy, but how about a little update on the cookbook? I concocked a really yummy Caribbean rice recipe this weekend that I'd like to contribute.

Cheryl,

I logged on the other night, only to have my modem act up from the heat (old farmhouse, no A/C). This is the first I've been able to get online since.

In answer to your query, the cookbook is coming along. I'm in the process of adding photos throughout. I went through the entire "New Beginnings" section and gathered as many good photos as I could find. I can still take more recipes - especially the one you spoke of in your last post!

To all the newcomers to the Board, we're trying to put together a cookbook as a fundraising item for SCD. I can use more recipes, but I also need more bios with pictures. I only have four as of today.

The bios are a short story about how you came to discover SCD, with 1-2 photos of you and your adopted Dobe.

So, to all the new members of the Board, if you'd like to be part of this project, please e-mail your recipes to me at: atlas520@centurytel.net. Photos should be saved as tiff or jpg files.

I'll be posting a more thorough update this week.

Thanks, Cheryl!!!
