Previous adopters Janice and Eric were in need of another companion, they lost their dog Hugo over the 4th of July weekend. They came out to meet Blackmore and it was a perfect match. Blackmore decided that he would adopt his new mom and dad and go live with them. Blackmore's new mom is retired so he gets to spend all day with his new mom, and get both his parents at night. He even has a new beagle brother to play with.

When I met Blackmore's old dad to bring Blackmore into the rescue, his old dad was very heart broken and loved his dog, but out of selflessness he knew he was doing the right thing for Blackmore. I promised Blackmore's old dad that I would find Blackmore a good home with a previous adopter.

I want to thank Eric and Janice for opening up their home to another Dobe in need and for reaching out to Blackmore's old dad and letting him know that Blackmore is okay and living with them, and letting him know that they will keep him updated on Blackmore. You two are awesome.

Also want to thank you two for all the toys, blankets, treats etc. That you brought out for all the dober kids at SCD.

Also want to let everyone know that Blackmore's new name is Thunder.

I'm so happy to hear that Blackmore/Thunder has been adopted by Janice and Eric.  How kind and thoughtful to let his previous dad know that he has a new, loving home.  A lot of dogs who come into rescue were abandoned or neglected, but it sounds like Blackmore was greatly loved, and will continue to be.
