SCD 2009 Reunion

We are planning the 2009 reunion. The date will be Saturday, September 12. We will start the party at noon. Please, no earlier. The staff needs time to feed and clean for the kennel kids. It wouldn't be safe to have the kennel kids in the yard with vehicles entering and exiting. Speaking of which,

When you arrive, please wait a few moments for the people inside to "collect" the dogs that are running around. If you are inside already and see someone approaching the gate, please help corral the dogs away from the gate. Make sure to latch the gate behind you. The last thing any of us want is an escapee. You may want to make sure your dog has it's ID tag on, just as an extra precaution.

Please bring chairs if you have them, there is limited seating at SCD. Bring a dish to pass if you would like, and your own beverages(Please remember, this is a family event, no alcohol ). Plates and utensils will be provided. I will start a list of who is bringing food and what they are bringing here as well. Also, bring a leash in case your furkid needs a timeout. PLEASE BRING YOUR CAMERA! You know how we all love pictures!

Also, some dogs may have allergies, or stomach issues, so please do not feed a dog that isn't yours, unless the owner gives permission.

We will have a registration table with name tags so that we will know who we are. LOL. We can put our board names and real names on the tags. We will be selling lots of goodies to raise money for SCD. If you would like to purchase anything, please bring money as well. I will try to get some pictures up of some of the things we have to fund raise with.

If you have any questions, post here and we will do our best to figure out the answer. If anyone sees anything I forgot, remind me.

Everyone is welcome, and so are all the furkids. Please come out and help us celebrate SCD's success stories. It is a great opportunity for Arda to see the dogs again, and to see the wonderful lives they are living now.

We will be selling lots of goodies to raise money for SCD. If you would like to purchase anything, please bring money as well.

We are hoping to raise enough money to fill the propane tanks for the winter. (You know how it is in Michigan: we plan all summer long, for the winter that looms just around the corner).

We are hoping to have auctions, raffles, and stuff to sell that day.

We'd like to get at least a general idea of how many people can come. Chips are a great side. I love chips.

Myself, my family and our turkey will not be attending this year. My daughter had a serious operation 16 days ago and will not be up to much of anything for quite a while. 22 screws/rods in her back and bone graft in her hip.
anyways, enjoy.

It will be so nice to meet you guys. Kzoo, I'm sorry to hear about your daughter's surgery, OUCH! I hope she is recovering well, and the operation was successful.

Also, a big THANK YOU to dobes4ever (Mike and Peg) for the generous donation of a party tent for the reunion! That is so great, we really appreciate it!

I am so upset. I will be in Portland, OR. the weekend of the 12th & 13th. Oh well next year.

That is a great idea Arda. Due to the hard economic times right now, food donation is down. We could really use some donations of dog food. Anyone who can, please bring a bag of pedigree dog food. I think I can find something to use as a "prize" for anyone who does bring out dog food. We all know how fast a bag of food goes. Now imagine feeding 20-30 dogs a day. That's a lot of food! We would really appreciate it and so will the dogs who are waiting for a forever home.
