In my household, all dogs get meds in peanut butter -- every morning we have what I call the "peanut butter ritual." Whether or not a dog is getting a pill, everyone gets a lump of peanut butter to lick off my finger, because I know sooner or later every dog will need a pill and if they have been taught to eat the peanut butter, I can get the pill down them. It's funny because after just a week in my house, in the morning, no matter how soundly they are sleeping, as soon as I open the lazy susan, there they are waiting for me wanting their peanut butter.
My doxies and poodles often had anal gland problems, but dobies never had, thank goodness. That stuff STINKS. Glad the little girl is doing better.

That's cute, Schaudeh loves peanut butter too, she knows when I am getting it and here
she comes full speed ahead.
I know that's another thing with Schaudeh, I had always heard there was a smell but she didn't
have that. She did after going to the vet but only just after he worked on her. She is doing
pretty well, back to her tricks so far.

when BB went last Thur to have her ears re posted. I told Dr Karen that she had been licking her bum and when she checked. sure thing her anal glands were inpacked and had to be extracted. It doesn't matter the age it can happen any time.

Thank Ella, it's just she has an infection too, so that part I worry about.

Well since Schaudeh went back to the vet 2 days ago and was sedated
for an infusion of her glands, I am hoping she will be alright.
At first I blamed it on myself, but my vet informed me this is not unheard
of, sometimes they abscess. Hoping she is on the mend now.
Just keeping you posted even though she is not a Dobe, she was
a pretty sick girl.
