Really do hope it is just allergies. For what it is worth, bunches of my patients are complaining bitterly of their allergies, the pollen, etc. because of the rain and cool spring. Keep us posted.

Vet took samples from each node and sent them out for cytology, plus drew blood for lab work. Should know if a few days (or longer cuz of the holiday) what the results are.

Well..out of the blue his lymph nodes are going down. I haven't even been giving him benadryl (since it didn't do much but make him tired). He was acting more himself yesterday, chasing Hailey around and whining cuz he couldn't catch her..I wish I had my video camera with me. I am still waiting on the cytology results....hopefully tomorrow or Wednesday I should know.

Best of Luck, glad he was acting more himself today, we worry so much

I spoke with the vet. Lab work was ok, except his platelets were a little low. I have never noticed any bleeding problems with him, but i will keep an eye out. The fluid and cells aspirated showed reactive cells. Leaning more toward an infection or reaction to something. The swelling has gone down on its own, without benadryl or antibiotics. I am going to keep a watch on him, but he should be okay.

Could "reactive cells" mean an allergy to something environmental? If so, maybe his swelling is going down because whatever he is/was allergic to, is now done for the season?

I'm glad that Max is feeling better.
