I've always fed my dogs Science Diet which I understand there is some controversy over it now. My chocolate lab lived to be 16 years old and was always healthy as a horse. Gracie is a red doberman with a very sensitive stomach. Someone told me reds don't always have the best coat. Hers is absolutely spectacular and her stomach is fine on Science with very little gas and poop. In that one bout of very hot weather, she had a terrible dandruff issue like all of a sudden. I think she simply went through an extensive shedding. I vigorously brushed and washed her and haven't had an issue since. My Sheltie has epilepsy, so I did switch her to Dick VanPatten's all natural organic food to the tune of $9.00 for a small bag which seems to have helped her seizures, but I'd have to stop eating (which I would if Gracie really needed it) to feed Gracie food that expensive.

I just got a bag from Pet Supplies Plus ( I LOVE THAT PLACE)
it was 23.00 for a 40 pound bag!!!
That is a GREAT price!! It was on sale.
Usually its about 34.00 for 40 pounds.
The sale is all month, I will get another bag before the end of the month, good time to stock up, cant pass up deals like that!

We feed a "Dukes Mixture" here. I use about 150 pounds a day. Sooooo we use what we can get from distributors that are willing to give it to us. Sportsmen Choice to Science Diet. My old girls absolutely love Beneful. Bubbles thinks he will die if he doesn't get Pedigree. Deacon has allergies. A dollop of canned keeps the rest happy. Daisy Duke will eat tin cans, where Elizabeth Geezer wants Mighty Dog on top of her Science Diet small bites. I run a 5 star restaurant.

I can make a hexx of a meat loaf out of canned Pedigree. Wow. And you should see what I can do to a hot dog. You'll never see a dog or humane starve here. Come on out. 5 Star Restaurant!

I just came from PetSupplyPlus and the small Canidae 5lb bag was $6.58. the 20lb bag was $22.00 and the 40lb bag was $36.00. I was a little off with the price.but that is the regular price, not a sale.

Oh, that's nothing. My friend Dale's son eats dog food. He's 6. Last time Cocoa and I went out for a visit, he was trying to be sneaky about taking food out of her bowl. He LOOOOVVVEES dog food.

I found a 30 pound bag of Dick Van Patten's Natural Balance for $37 at K-9 Specialities over on Mound Rd. That's real good considering I paid roughly $25 for a 17 pound bag at Happy Pet Supplies (corner of Inkster & Pennsylvania).

Jen - They were all out of the Diamond Lamb and Rice but said they will have more today. I'll call before I go. Worse case, I can get it at the other store. But, K-9 is a few bucks cheaper.

Cher
I think I'm going to look up Diamond Dog Food online and see where they sell it, what outlets, etc.
That way, if I don't get ahold of you, I can track a bag down SOMEWHERE...:P
What would I DO without you, CHER?!?!?!?!

I SO appreciate you picking it up for me, honest to God...and Brody LOVES IT

What are the rules about bringing it across the border? Does it qualify as "food" and therefore not subject to Duty? Anyone know?

I was going to load up my car and my dad's trailer and keep Jenny and I in Diamond for the next 6 months!
