Last night about 5:00 am Princess wanted to go out. I let her out and she peeed and barked a little. when she came back in she jumped into bed with me and started to cough. She coughed for almost 15 minutes. I was scared to death. after about 15 minutes she stopped and went to sleep. This morning I took her to the vets. they did x-rays and all kinds of things. the e-rays showed her heart is twice the size it should be, and there is water around the heart. there is spots on her lungs that they couldnt tell what it was. the doc took blood samples to check the lungs. I have to go to Mich Specialist vet hosp in Southfield to see a Cardio specialist about the DCM. I'm waiting until I get the results back from the tests tomorrow. The doc has her on Furoseride 50 twice a doy and Enalapril 20 once a day. She said that they will probaly change what she is on at the specialist. I am at a loss. Please pray for my baby.

Be strong. They have a lot of new ways to treat this nightmare of our dogs. YOU be strong. We'll do the praying.

Oh Ella, I am so sorry. You and Princess have such a great relationship together. I am praying hard for you. Can we get a year here without one of our furkids dying? It's a heartbreaker.

I got the call from my doc this afternoon about the blood work. she said that it came back fine. no problem with her kidneys or lungs or anything. which is a good thing. she is on pills to get rid of the fluid around her heart so she has started dripping all over the place from the pills. I know she doesn't even know she is doing it. I went out today and got her a pair of panties. she took one look at them (I didn't even put them on) just looked at me like "I ain't going to ware those" walked away and jumped into bed. she hasn't dripped all afternoon since I showed them to her. She is too funny, doesn't even know how sick she is. Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers. I love you all.

Oh, Ella, how much more are you two going to have to conquer? Keep your chin up--my daughter's Blue led a very good quality of life for 2 years after diagnosis. Miracles do happen--you're both in my prayers. :flower:
