Oh Cheryl, this news made me cry. I am so very sorry to hear about Valentino. It is like having a family member pass. No one could have spoiled him as much as you. You were so in love with him. He was such a gentle soul that I remember him well.

May God bless you and comfort you during this time. May you heal quickly and may you take care of yourself always. I miss you and I will miss him. Pet Cocoabutt for me because I miss her too. It is like the passing of a legend and I share your grief. :Rose:

What in the world are you doing coming in the back door?  I don't know if I have ever seen you come in the back door.  I am usually with you.  How did you get to the store without me?  How did you get out of the house unnoticed?  What is going on here?????  Are we off our schedule?????    AAAAAAAAAaaaeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!??????

Oh CAB, we are so very sorry for your loss of sweet Val. He was a very special boy, and was loved by everyone he met. My fondest memory of him was the trip to Lake Michigan, when he went into lifeguard mode and 'rescued' that boy in the water. Val didn't know that the boy was just playing, all he knew was the boy was yelling and splashing around in the water, so he dove in and brought the boy to shore! We were so proud of his actions, that we fed him pancakes for breakfast the next morning. He was truly one in a million, and will be sorely missed. Run free Val........

Just read this again and am all teary-eyed again too......I remember when you adopted him, but were going to leave him in Arda's care when you went on vacation. He cried like like a wild man as he watched you walk away to your car. He knew he belonged with you and was not gonna have it any other way. You two were meant for each other. You gave him a fabulous life and he made you so proud :icon12: . My heart breaks for you and I am sorry you have to go through this. Even when we know it is coming, it never makes it any easier. Keep on moving forward because you never know when the right pupper is going to fall into your lap :Four Leaf Clover: .
We give dogs the time we can spare, the space we can spare, and the love we can spare. And, in return, dogs give us their all. It's the best deal man has ever made.

Cheryl - I am just now reading this, at work of course, and crying my eyes out. Val was such a special, special dog. You gave home the best home a dog could have and he knew with absolute certainty he was loved.

I remember seeing him for the first time after you had had him, and he was so shiny and soft...and smug. Having lived a life of horrible conditions, Val knew exactly what a super choice he made when he chose you. My favorite memory of him, though, is when you left him at Arda's for a week after you had been his for a couple years. Oh, how he POUTED that whole time! We were definitely NOT providing him with the lifestyle he was accustomed to, thank you very much, and he was relentless in making sure we knew he was not pleased.

I’m so very sorry for your loss, a loss that extends out into all the hearts Val touched. He was the epitome of forgiveness and kindness in a world that could really use the example he set.
