Love was all around out here today. Carie Smith and Paul Cowan came out to look at Dobermanns. And Dobermanns is what we have. After looking and walking Legend finally took best in show for Carie and Paul. My beautiful boy finally got a second chance and let me tell you, that Carie does know something about handling a dog. A beautiful addition to their life. Enjoy. He's a great boy. And I will miss him.

Thank you very much for the comments and the invitation to join the message board. FYI, Carie and I changed Legend's name to "Ockham's Razor", or "Razor" for short. We wanted you guys to know about his name change in case any of his paperwork ever finds a way to you (so you would know who he is). Everyone that has met Razor has been very impressed with his demeanor, he is such a calm and friendly boy, especially, for a 12 month old dog. He keeps making many friends, human and dog alike. We took him to a fenced dog park today and he loved being able to run at full speed. He didn't growl or bark at a single dog. He has begun to settle down in his new home. Carie and I are as happy as could be with Razor, he is a major part of our family now. We are still interested in a second dog (playmate for Razor). Please keep your eyes open for a young female that gets along with others.

Warm Regards,

Paul

Carie and I wanted to post pictures of Razor for everyone. He is such a happy boy! We have discovered that he loves long walks through the wooded trails in our neighborhood (what a surprise!). He has quickly learned how to walk on a leash without pulling (most of the time). Carie and I try to take him for a long walk at least once a day. Razor also loves to play "keep away" in the basement, it's a good way to burn off some of that puppy energy! He has already caught on to quite a few of our trickier "keep away" tactics.

Razor is such a well behaved boy, he respects the boundaries that we have set for him, for example, he usually sleeps about three feet away from us while we eat our supper each night. In the pictures you will see Razor in his dress collar and his normal collar. His dress collar is for when he wants to show off and look like a tough guy. :)

Carie and I are both so grateful for the service that Second Chance Dobes provides. We were able to find our dream dog, and at the same time provide a loving home for a dog that needed a home. Some people at work ask me if I rescued him in order to save money and I inform them that we rescued him in order to support the people that dedicate large parts of their lives to making the world better for dogs, and of course to free up a bed at the rescue so another worthy Dobermann can have it for a while.
