Another update on Ruckus, he was also diagnosed with Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency, which means he is unable to digest food properly, his body is unable to absorb food and the nutrients that he needs. Our vet put him on medication at every meal time and will have regular visits to the vet for check ups to make sure the medication is working, over time the dose will be increased or decreased depending on how well he is able to digest.

What a handsome, happy looking boy! I'm so glad to see him in a home that loves him:)

Poor Ruckus, yet good you got a diagnosis and a course of action. What is the medicine and is it expensive? So lucky this boy got such a caring family, I will keep him in my prayers that the medicine continues to keep him healthy. Linda

Holly crap. I didn't see the part about his pancreas. I had three males in a litter in the 70's that had the problem. We had them on meds for 6 months to 1 year and it went away. It was a drug called Viokase. They just outgrew it. I'm so sorry.

He is on pancreas plus, 5 pills a day. The pills aren't terribly expensive. About $300 a year I think we figured out, but the boy is worth it. Our vet is saying it is most likely going to be a life long thing. But he does take his pills for us, he licks them out of our hands and chews them like a good boy so no complaints there! :)

Nicky and Ruckus had a great time chasing each other around when he was here. They were quite a pair.

Playing a bit with squeak toys. Thumper is attempting tug of war as him and Gracie always did; Ruckus is trying to catch on :). And yes that is one of my old shoes under the chair that Ruckus stole fair and square...hmm

Thumper does win once in a while though. :) When Gracie and Thumper use to play Gracie use to drag Thumper across the floor until Thumper let go.

What in the world are you doing coming in the back door?  I don't know if I have ever seen you come in the back door.  I am usually with you.  How did you get to the store without me?  How did you get out of the house unnoticed?  What is going on here?????  Are we off our schedule?????    AAAAAAAAAaaaeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!??????

Ruckus and Thumper playing in the new fallen snow. Ruckus is like, "hey this white stuff is kinda neat". On the other hand he's like, "darn it got cold...!".

Are the Pancreas meds helping him? He looks great. I'm not handling the cold very well this year either but I'm not very thin either.
He really looks great.
