First and foremost, your place is not a dump!!! It is a little piece of heaven for many furkids!!!(not including us humans who need a release from this cruel world)
Without you where would these furkids be???.... tied to a tree,no shelter, wondering where thier next meal will come from?, wandering the streets waiting to be hit by car? Beaten by the hand that feeds them? Starving for any affection? No food, no water, no love???
Help is coming! even if it means restructuring certain things!

The day Kori and I came out to see if Dakota was there (Girl) is implanted in my memories. There were two other couples their before us that you were helping. One surrender and one adoption. When you got to us and took us to her and began talking you realized I was from South Dakota. You told me that " If it doesn't work out she has to come back to me." I told you she's not coming back, and thats my final answer. I didn't know we were supposed to be renting them I must have gotten the unlimited rental plan. Myles must be on that same rental plan becasue he has mended my husbands broken heart over Sam. You know I happened to watch that story Fluke on Animal Planet last night. My husband caught the tail end of it and asked me what was going on. He made the comment well thats what Sam must have done with Myles. Sam knew mom wanted a red dobie and dad needed a crazy puppy and Myles is both.
Oh just one more thing YOUR PLACE IS HEAVEN ON EARTH TO ALL THE FUR KIDS THAT MAKE IT THERE UNTIL THEY GET ON THAT UNLIMITED RENTAL PLAN WITH NO RETURN.

This is a dump and it's only the best I can do for them. It's not what I want for them just the best I have to offer them.
It is not a dump - and all anyone can ever do is the best they can. Jeez, you think Blue is looking around saying, "Hey, where are the velvet curtains and the steaks!?" He is just thanking the angels who were watching over him and brought him to you.

I don't think these dogs have ever cared if they live in a 3 room house or a mansion, darn just love us is all they care about-love us when we're healthy and young and love us when we're sick and old.
Sh!t people can't even do that with our elderly (look at some nursing homes) let alone with their furkids. But I am just heartbroken that people can own a pet for 6 yrs and give it up so easily.
I am in tears over this. The only way I would ever give up my furkids is if someone else could save their lives and I could not.
Your place is not a dump, it is a love haven for all. Mary
Dogs don't know about beginnings, and they don't speculate on matters that occurred before their time.
Dogs also don't know-or at least don't accept-the concept of death.
With no concept of beginnings or endings, dogs probably don't know that for people, having a dog as a life companion provides a streak of light between two eternities of darkness

Technically, Arda, you are absolutely correct and we thank God for you every day... TAKE PRIDE IN THAT FACT!!! but then we all live in dumps...
According to Webster's New Collegiate Dictionary a "dump" is defined as: (1a) an accumulation of refuse or other discarded materials and (1b) a place where such materials are dumped.
the part of the definition you are NOT is (3) a disorderly, slovenly, or dilapidated place.
Every thing is in it's place, we just don't know where that place is at any given moment... There is a big difference between being too busy to keep everything immacutely clean and not caring at all and as things can be they are fixed... so our runs aren't standing straight or the grass needs mowing... the dogs we've agreed to care for are fed, housed with warmth, treated with respect, and LOVED!!!

hi cathy i was wondering, i meet up with cab today to bring some news papers out on sat to scd and she had a very cool sticker on her back window for scd do you have anymore or where can i get one thanks frank
Speaking of which, Cath, were you able to drop off one of those stickers for me at Arda's? I know I had asked you, but that was AWHILE ago, and I'd still like one for my van....
Thanks for reminding me, Frank!!
Arda,
Your place is not only a sanctuary for your dogs and furkids, to alot of "humans", and MYSELF definitely included it's the same. Right now, I'm going through issues, and I cannot WAIT until I can get over to the swamp to work off aggression/frustration, and whatever else I can get out of my system. Your "dump" refreshes my soul and spirit, makes me appreciate life and what it has to offer, and makes me realize that there is ALWAYS something that can be done to improve the life/lives of others, no matter what kind of financial or emotional straits you may be in.
You, in and of yourself, are an inspiration to all of us, even while living there in your "dump". We all run to you, talk with you, and join around you in good times, hard times, and all the in between times. You heal souls and spirits, Arda, dog and human alike, and no one can replace you, or do it as you do.
Your CanukieLand Kid finds refuge in your dump, as I'm sure alot of others in here do, when things get too rough in their own life. We find reassurance at the Swamp, that yes, life IS hard, but LIFE IS GOOD....
Love you, Swamp Mama!!
