Heartworm preventive recall !
The American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) is reporting that Virbac has recalled six lots of their heartworm preventive, Iverhart Plus Flavored Chewables, "because the ivermectin potency failed to meet their stability standards. What this means is that your pets may not be fully protected."
If this is your pet's brand of heartworm preventive, contact your veterinarian and see if your pet has received any of the affected lots:
Lot 120076 (Large 51-100 pounds)
Lot 120086 (Large 51-100 pounds)
Lot 120856 (Large 51-100 pounds)
Lot 120202 (Medium 26-50 pounds)
Lot 120196 (Small up to 25 pounds)
Lot 120844 (Small up to 25 pounds)

And we use Iverhart Plus for all the new kids for deworming purposes for the first month after we have a neg heart worm. Seems like we could get a break.
A chain is only as strong as it's weakest link.

The non-generic manufacturers would say "you get what you pay for" when you buy generics but the name-brand stuff seems to have just as many recalls. At least the bad lots won't kill your pets, at least not directly.

the company better be prepared to pay for treatments if any pets get heartworm due to this!!!!
