Well, I bet that got everyone's attention. Especially that she is SCD's miracle dog. Well, from an unwanted dog in South Carolina to a therapy dog in Michigan. This olde girl has just saved Larry's life. Tayla took Larry for a walk everyday all winter long. Got him moving. While Jane kept feeding him and Tayla kept walking him...........He is at Henry Ford's Hospital recovering from a heart attack. They are calling it a mild one because he has been exercising with Tayla. So if you can muster up one........send a prayer for a speedy recovery and many more walks with Tayla. This is a great pair. And a greater dog. Tayla the miracle dog.

I'm so very sorry to hear about this! But, Larry, if you have to have a heart attack, thank goodness they are saying it was a mild one. I am definitely sending healing thoughts your way and wishes for a speedy and complete recovery. I'm sure Tayla misses her daddy and wants him home and walking with her again. Get well soon, Larry!!!

Sending get well wishes to Tayla's Larry! Was wondering how things were since no new postings in a while. Well Jane you and Tayla did a good job taking such good care with him. I had a mild heart attack in 2004 and with the good care of some special dobes have had this heart mended with their love. Watch out for depression it can sneak up on you. Linda (Arda! you gave my heart a jolt with the subject line so I know this ticker is ok)

Larry is in quite a bit of pain today. No real appetite but he ate some breakfast. During the course of the surgery there were a couple of complications. The most serious was a puncture to his left lung which is now leaking some air. They are hoping that it will heal on its own with a chest tube that is sucking the air out of the chest cavity. The nurse told me that there was some improvement overnight. For those of you who have known Larry a long time, you know that he had this problem before and they could not fix it without surgery. Please pray that this opening in his lung heals on its own, and that the Lord will lessen his pain. Today the goal is to remove most of the tubes going in and out of his body and to get him to sit up in a chair. Please pray that goes well.
We cannot express how much your prayers have helped, how much they mean, and how much we love you.
Jesus is Lord, and we thank him for His mercy and gifts to us sinners. We thank him for all of you and for the opportunity to enter into God's presence with these requests. We rest in His hands.

Believe me when I say I know what you are going thru, my father had 5 different
heart attacks and 2 different heart surgeries thru the years. Jane, I know the stress
is unbelievable, I know how my mom felt, how we all felt.

Well Larry was feeling a lot better today than yesterday. He ate most of the food set before him, and was getting up and standing on his own in place. He went for a small walk with help.

About the chest tube. They tried clamping off the suction for a large part of the day and took a chest xray. His lung was beginning to collapse so they restarted the suction. He may get sent out of the ICU tomorrow, but he will be on the suction for awhile. There is no way to tell how long he will be in while the lung heals, but the rest of the healing seems to be on schedule.
He is really thankful for all of the cards, visits, emails, prayers, and well wishes. It keeps his spirits up. So I would like to add my thanks and I pray the Lord blesses you all forever.

Overall it was a good day. Thank you Lord.
