Attention Dobe owners and lovers. We are in desperate need of Vit K1. One of our youngsters got out of his kennel yesterday and tore the kennel apart. In the process, he ate a ton of Christmas presents, part of a bottle of Tylan, and 2 POUNDS of rat poison. He will need 40 - 5 mg of it a day. for 3 to 4 weeks to save him.

LINDA: Contact the Dobe World please. He is 15 mons old and weighs 105 lps. His name is Tipper. We need HELP!

OMG! Is he even going to make it until tomorrow? Please tell me where to get it, and I will bring it out to you personally, ASAP. I am free tomorrow (Christmas) if that makes any difference.

Is this the Vitamin K1 you need? I'm confused about the price you mentioned.

What's the status of the Vitamin K1 needed? Do you have enough for now? Can you help clear up my confusion about the price? Is it really $400 a day???

Please let me know if you need any help. Arda, if you need it and someone out there has it but cannot get it to you because tomorrow is Christmas, I could possibly pick it up and get it to you. We've already had our family get-together today and I am free tomorrow.

Hoping and praying for the poor boy's recovery!

John and Sarah did their internet hunt and our vet is contacting some of these companies. We are making head ways. As I understand it, these poisons are being manufactured to have a longer kill life in the animal. Whatever he has ingested can screw up the works for 3 to 4 weeks. They have to test the clot time several times a day. If he starts to bleed in the brain or lungs, there is nothing more we can do. The animal grade Vit K1 was no where to be found. What I did get was the human grade and that wiped out my checking account. And he is so sweet. A big hulky kid. Loves everyone.

PRAY; it's Christmas. I want the dog to have a chance.

When my cocker was poisoned my Vet gave vit k sub cu. Plus did blood transfusions.
It was nothing fancy.. draw blood from a healthy dog (they were checked for heartworm first),
inject it via IV line into my dog.
2x a day for five days. I lined up my friends dogs... You have a lot of potential blood doners...
My dog was at deaths door but ended up living at least five more years.

How is your boy doing now?

We have always had universal blood type here for these needs but Georgie is now 13 and Rudy died a year ago and Diamond is 9 so they are too old to use. We have alerted the blood bank in case we need it. He is now at the vets. He is under close watch for a while. Very close watch.

Just getting on and I AM PRAYING

Dear GOD...Please answer our prayers....Please
give us the biggest Christmas gift of all...PLEASE
bring this boy to good health....PLEASE bring him
HOME....PLEASE stand by Arda and see her thru
this...WE NEED YOU. Please hear our plea.

Arda, I am going to check with my vet for the
animal grade too, he has been around for a LONG
LONG TIME. But since it is a holiday it will not
be until Wednesday. (I am not saying your vet
has not been around for a long time) I will do
anything to HELP.

How is he doing? I thought rat poison gave an immediate response.

My Vet said all dogs were "universal donors"... of course this was 14-15 years ago.
I know he did not test for blood types. My dog had a variety on donors... standard poodles, my doberman, a beagle, pit bull, coonhound, border collie,,,
even a great dane..

Any way... I'm hoping for good news for your boy.

There is a blood bank for dogs in Stockbridge. They are always looking for Universal blood donors. The white Dobermanns that I have had were all universal.
The new rat poisons are active 3 to 4 weeks in an animal. Scarey, isn't it.

Do you have enough vit k1 now? I found some on Amazon I could order and have it shipped to you. Let me know how much more you need. I think you need that checkbook reimbursed so if you have enough vit k1 we can work on money for that and to cover the blood transfusions. Love and prayers, Linda

I'll worry about my poor check book AFTER I get Tipper home. Keep praying. Sharen can probably fill us in a little more about the medical part of this mess.
