It is very adjustable so you can fit it properly. You turn it inside out to put it on, then flip the collar over so the prongs are against the dog and there is a adjustable strap to fit it properly, they are very nice and there is a "non prong" area in the middle so it never rubs on the throat area. I hope that helps, I am so poor at describing things. They do fit high up on the dogs neck area, if put on correctly, as with all prong collars, so many folks don't fit them right.

I guess these collars are like any other prong collar in the way it works, it is just the idea of the outer fabric hides the prongs and that is what people don't always like about the normal prong collar, is they look so mean.
