It is with great sadness that I write to inform you all that Frank had to let Bronson go to the Bridge today. Yesterday, Bronson had rectal bleeding really bad and he was no longer interested in food, not even table scraps, which seemed quite odd because Bronson was the type of dog who would eat anything. Frank spent most of the afternoon at the vet's office, while awaiting the results of blood work and x-rays. The results of the x-rays showed that Bronson was full of cancer. The vet said that he had been sick for quite some time now, which explains why Bronson hadn't been himself lately.

I got to know Bronson fairly well as I had the opportunity to dog sit him a few times this past summer. He was an awesome dog and beautiful too. I really enjoyed having him around, even though he always had bad gas, would make himself at home on my couch when I wasn’t around, and he graciously helped himself to the dog food in the basement.

Frank adopted Bronson from Arda in September 2005. Although his time was short, I know that Bronson enjoyed a good life with Frank and his bitchy older sister Taylor. I'll never forget what Frank said about Bronson when he first brought him home. He just couldn't believe how laid back of a dog Bronson was.

Bronson truly was an ambassador to our breed showing the world that Dobermans are not bad dogs as he charmed and influenced men, woman, and children all over. Bronson represented the breed perfectly at meet and greets and also at the Pet Expo last fall. He made the Swamp Mama proud by earning his CGC at Island Lake in August.

We lost a great friend today.

Run free Bronson, run free......

The embedded collars in his neck when we got him and he goes back and extends the gentle paw to the human race. One heck of a dog.
